Motorcoach vs Limo

Ok,
So we all know that unless you come to an agreement with your planner regarding walking in through the International Gateway at Epcot, you're supposed to hire a motorcoach at something like $80 per hour, with a minimum of 5 hours, to get your guests to and from your Epcot dessert party.

What just suddenly occurred to me is this...

Can you extend (or rehire) the limo in your Escape package?

We were planning on having it do 2 trips where necessary to get our total party of 12 to the wedding site and over to the reception site to get our 4 hour usuage out of it (e.g. 1.30pm-5.30pm).

I was just thinking that perhaps it could be rehired after our reception meal to do double trips again to get everyone to and from the dessert party - anyone know if this is doable and how much it would cost?

Just $400+ seems a lot for a coach we have to have for 5 hours and only need for probably 2 hours!

I'm quite sure you could extend the limo time from the basic Escape package (you would only pay for the additional hours at whatever the going rate is). But I do know the time for the limo must be consecutive (i.e. 4 straight hours, not 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening). I would think that could be a more economical option.

If our 'free' limo runs from say 1.30-5.30, do you think we could then run the second part from 7.30 onwards rather than pay for the middle part where it's useless? Do we have to book it for a whole 4 hours again though?

Just wondered if anyone knew the answer to this, but I might email and double check.

Incidentally, does anyone know the email address for Brie? Doreen emailed me to say she would be taking over as Doreen is leaving the department, but she didn't give me Brie's email address??

Disney used to use Mears for the limo service (they might still use them)...

I checked Mears' site for pricing info:

Hourly rate $80 ($2.35 per mile)
Minimum charter 3 hours

Now, I don't know if Disney gets a 'discount' because it's a contracted service or if the mileage is waived. My guess is that you've already met the minimum charter with the four hour service so your additional charge for two more hours would be about $160. But that's just my guess.

Well even if we have to do another 3 hours of limo from 7.30 onwards, that's still cheaper than 5 hours of motorcoach based on those figures
And perhaps we could extend our dessert party for a half hour or so if we'll have the limo til at least 10.30pm. We probably won't even leave for the dessert party until 8pm to be honest though, maytbe we'll just get the limo to take us all cruising for a while

Disney requires you to do five hours on the charter motorcoach (meaning it will pick up at multiple resorts) at $98/hour - even though they contract through Mears.

However, for an Escape-size group, there are several other options besides the motorcoach. An 11-person van is $163 one-way (if everybody finds their own way home after the DP), $221 round trip (two stops) or $68.25/hour with a three-hour minimum. A 25-person minibus is $273 one way, $321 round trip or $87.15/hour with that dang 5-hour minimum.

Or you could do Evil Town Cars(tm) that hold 4 each and cost $25 one-way or $40/hour for a three-hour minimum.
