Motion sickness on Spiderman?

Let me preface by saying I get motion sick on lots of rides, but Spiderman near killed me. The next trip to Universal I took Bonine first, and still got the sweats after the ride. My personal two cents is that no ride is woth ruining the day. If someone is prone to motion sickness, they should skip this ride, and DEFINETLY skip the Simpson ride.

Spiderman wiped me out for a several hours. Mission Space for the rest of the day. Same thing with The Simpsons. Now i don't do any of the three!:sad2:

I rode Spiderman, the Simpsons, Cat in the Hat and Jimmy Neutron. I loved them all! I figured if things got a little too "real" for me I could always look at my tennis shoes and get re-oriented. :thumbsup2

Spiderman does throw you around quite a bit. As others have said, this ride is a must. Try looking up at the ceiling when things get tough. Also, sitting in the front row offers less jerkiness, and more distinct special effects. Avoid sitting in the back and middle rows as you will feel the jerkiness of the ride more.

I have heard everything from "you will be fine" and "wow it causes motion sickeness" but no one has actually told me about the ride.

So here I am asking... :)

I've been on Spiderman twice, and although some motion simulators bother me (think Star Tours at DHS and Body Wars back when it was open), I always have a great time on Spiderman! When I was at Islands last spring, a lady with me wasn't so lucky; she promptly lost her lunch after exiting. :scared1:

It's a 3-D motion simulator that rides along a track and puts you in the different scenes. The whole car moves so there are no stationary seats available. You might want to search YouTube to see if there is a ride video posted. It's hard to say whether you'll be fine on the attraction...only you know what your limits are. If you feel like riding it, go for it.

DW gets carsick, seasick, and sick on any type of spinner ride, including the tea cups. Spiderman is no problem for her, she loves it and rides it multiple times every trip.

I can do most coasters without motion sickness but tend to have problems on motion simulators. I rode the Hulk and Dueling Dragons and didn't have any problems (loved them!!). The Hulk is now my favorite coaster with RnR Coaster at Disney in second place. Spiderman made me only slightly nauseated for a very short time. I was able to ride it several times and enjoyed it. I did have to look away a few times to get oriented. Jimmy Neutron was a breeze. The spinning on Men in Black and Cat in the Hat were a little rough but tolerable. But I PUKED MY GUTS UP after getting off the Simpsons:eek: I knew within the first 20 seconds that I was in trouble. Never again. I rode Back to the Future years ago and it was rough for me but not as bad as the Simpsons. For the record I can ride the tame version of Mission Space with no problems but Star Tours is a problem for me. I usually get off there green. The backwards motion on Expedition Everest bothers me as well. Same with the backwards motion on The Mummy. I do not take any bonine or anti-nausea meds either. Maybe I should try them. My 2 cents.
