Motion Sickness;Harry Potter, Men in Black ?

I don't consider myself to have motion sickness but FJ makes me nauseous. If I go on it now I just close my eyes during some of the flying scenes. It also tend to be warm and humid on the ride which doesn't help. I have never had any other issues on any other ride at any of the parks in Florida and I love roller coasters.

I really think if they added some cold air blowing into your face in that ride, it would make a HUGE difference. I'm interested to hear the differences in the Hollywood version because apparently there is a lot more cold air in your face.

Haven't read the other responses but my dh gets bad motion sickness and he was okay on gringotts but puked on forbidden journey. It took him a long time to recover too. The ride tilts you backwards.

I'm in the "skip the forbidden journey" camp! I never get sick on thrill rides, but that one had me sick for a long time. Never again! Love MIB!

FJ was very cool, but I would describe it as an all-out attack on all your senses at once. I felt a little woozy after the ride for about 20 minutes, but it wasn't anything disabling. Beware they do make you walk down like three flights of stairs after the ride, which seems like a bad idea after such a motion intensive ride, but hey what do I know.

just got back and I have a huge problem with motion sickness....I skipped FJ and simpsons, those are too much for me, even with closing my eyes. The others - Minions, Spiderman, Men In Black, Gringotts, etc..... I was fine. I figured out that taking off the 3d Glasses helps me a lot. I could watch most of the screen without the glasses on, it did not bother me at all, and only had to close my eyes a couple times when there was major spinning. Vs. just closing my eyes the entire time (lol, why even bother going on??).

I struggled on The Simpsons, Minions and FJ. I just had to close my eyes here and there then I was ok though. No problems on other rides though. Loved the thrill of FJ, however!
Dh wasn't feeling great so waited with us in the (short) FJ line then bailed before riding. He said he watched many woozy, dizzy people stumble off the ride during his wait for us. It can really do you on. But, it's so fun!

I love Soarin and generally don't get motion sick but FJ kicked my BUTT. All 4 of us were down and out for a while after that. It might be because the ride broke down 1/2 way through, the lights came on and we were hanging mid air for a good 10 minutes. But I wouldn't risk it again.

The walk through Hogwarts is amazing though, a must do!

Cold air is my number one go to when my son or I have motion sickness!!! Good point!!!

Yep, a good blast of cool air does help me too.........would be ideal if they added a bit more to especially FJ.

Definitely going to try bonnie this year!!

Skyw, I bought some Meclizine on Amazon for our trip and had no problems with any of the rides. I was determined to ride Forbidden Journey no matter what... but I LOVED it and had no ill effects. Will be buying some more Meclizine for our trip in a few weeks!

I'm not great with motion sickness but if I load up on Dramamine I can handle pretty much anything. It has gotten me through long days at Cedar Point and Universal with no issues on any rides...

...except FJ. It's not the motion of the vehicles that gets me, but the parts with the screens. The screens on that ride just seem to be way closer to you than they do on other rides in the park, plus there's a lot more "blur" to simulate speed on that ride than others (except for maybe Simpsons, but I do ok on Simpsons). It's a shame too because I think the rest of the ride is PHENOMENAL, one of the best I've experienced. If I close my eyes on the parts with the screens I'm ok for the most part, but I'm afraid to close my eyes for too long and miss something cool -- or not long enough and end up getting sick.

Most here post they close their eyes to avoid motion sickness on some rides

When I do that it makes it worst for me

I always look down at my hands or feet to avoid the head spinning
I find The only way I can ride FJ is to do that
