Motion Sickness Disers

I always take Bonine. Even the Less drowsey Dramamine makes me feel like I am in a fog. Also Bonine lasts 12- 24 hours, so one at night and one in the morning keeps me feeling great on all the rides. Some people have bad reactions to the patches, so if you try them, try it at home for a day. My mother almost ended up in the hospital after a bad reaction. Good Luck and enjoy all the rides no matter what works for you.

I LOVED Soarin, but it did make me a little quesy. I'm ok on all the other Disney rides, but Soarin got to me for a few minutes afterwards.

I agree that some parts of Soarin' may cause a "quesy" feeling. I think it's the part near the aircraft carrier that gets me. It is something to do with the camera motion, not the movement of the ride. I feel that same way on the other rides that have movies, and the room moves - Star Tours, etc.

I also get dizzy on carousels!!!

My DW gets motion sickness a lot but the only thing that has given it to her at WDW is Mission Space. Otherwise, she has never had any problems.

(But she does have a tendency to not ride with me on the tea cups!)

I highly suggest Bonine. My sister is highly prone to motion sickness and she was able to do Mission Space without trouble while taking Bonine and using Sea Bands!

Please try Bonine - it works just as well as Dramamine or better, but without that extremely "looped out" feeling that Dramamine gives you. But do NOT go on Mission Space!!

A CM informed us last summer that they have a nickname for Mission Space...the Vomit Comet. Those fanny packs they carry are full of latex gloves and I bet you can figure out why. I have not, and I will not, do Mission Space although I would love to be able to do so. It looks like it could be fun, but not worth the risk of ruining a Disney day.

I agree with the poster who said everyone reacts differently to medicines. Bonine was like a sugar tablet to me--did absolutely nothing. The less drowsy Dramamine worked okay for me, but the regular stuff is what I use. It doesn't make me drowsy, but very little does--I'd have to drink a quart of Benadryl to knock myself out!

My DH uses the patch when we go scuba diving, as the other stuff knocks him out. It might be worth a try ahead of time. One caveat--it works by drying up the fluid in your inner ear, and you will feel incredibly thirsty while you're wearing it.

I always ask myself on these motion rides--do I want to go on this badly enough to risk getting sick? For some, the answer is yes (e.g. Soarin' since I haven't done it yet) and for others the answer is no (e.g. Space Mtn. since I've done it before and remember how badly I felt afterwards).

You have enough time to try a couple of different medicines and find the one that works for you.
