Motion Sickness at Garden Grill?

We are going to the Garden Grill for the first time in Sept. I read on here that some were incredibly sick from the restaurant moving. My husband, daughter, and I all suffer from motion sickness. Should I reconsider eating here? Can anyone else share their experience?

thanks!

from what i remember the grill itself rotated so slowly that i don't know how anyone could get motion sickness. i mean it literally creeped little by little.

That's what I heard but then I read about some being so sick they had to leave. that made me nervous!

It moves very verrrrryy slowly. Maybe you can make another reservation for the same night, then check out the restaurant and cancel one of them depending on whether you think it will bother you. But honestly, it moves at a snails pace. We might have rotated about 4 times in the hour we were there, as far as I can remember.

maybe it depends how bad their reaction to motion is. that's the only thing i could think of but it revolves so slow it doesn't even seem like your moving at all.

I suffer badly from motion sickness but when my mom and I ate there, I felt nothing. The restaurant moves so incredibly slow that you can't you even tell.
We had a great time with the characters.

;)

Ok. Thanks. We are all pretty bad too. Star Tours made me miserable! My husband and I fight over who drives because the one in the passenger seat gets sick. I think I'll keep the ressie and hope we have the same reaction as you.

I suffer from very bad sickness...I have been to the GG twice and did not have any problems...It moves so slow that DH did not even know we were moving until half way through our meal the first time we were there...I think you should be fine...

Good luck!

I've never really had a problem with motion sickness. Been on boats, rides, cars, trains, etc. with no problem...but for whatever reason, I had issues at GG. I was the only one in my party to experience it, but I had to get out of there. It does move very, very slowly. I don't know why it bothered me, but there you go. The characters were fun and the setting was nice, but I'm too scared to do it again, lol. Maybe the key is to have motion sickness issues and you'll be fine!

Ok - take the slowest kids carousel ride you've ever seen and slow it down by about a billion. That's how slow the GG moves, lol. Snails might move faster. Crippled snails. Dragging a cart.

It's supposed to rotate exactly once during a meal ... I think it's supposed to take an hour and 15 minutes total.

I get motion sick sometimes and it never bothered me. My son also gets car sick sometimes and he had no problems. It moves very very very slow.

I can't imagine getting sick on here. I get motion sick but this place moves so sloooooooooow .

I've never feel the movement either, it's so very very slow. But I did have one client who went last year and says she got motion sickness at GG. I think it's the "idea" that it's moving and not stable that bothers people, then they see the slight change in the scenery and that does it for them.

I get motion sickness, but the GG wasn't any problem. If you don't look at the wall, and focus on the food, you wouldn't feel like you are moving. We didn't like our food or the snotty, depressing waitress, but Chip and Dale were fun and came twice.

If you aren't thinking about its moving, I think you will be fine. Enjoy your trip!

It moves about a half inch per second at the edge - and slower on the inner area where the actual seating is. I have to wonder if those who have had issues might have had them caused by something else.

If you run the numbers, you can put it in terms that would be understood by a fighter pilot - on Garden Grill, you're pulling a little less than two millionths of a g!!

Motion sickness is a perceived imbalance between the visual and physical senses. You don't need physical movement to feel it if your eyes are telling you one thing and your body another (some video games do this to me)

Motion sickness or kinetosis is a condition in which a disagreement exists between visually perceived movement and the vestibular system's sense of movement.

In the case of Garden grill, your body may tell you it's not moving, but glancing at the walls every so often will tell you otherwise.

OP, if you focus on your family, the food & characters, you'll all be fine

It bothered me some, but only when I couldn't stop thinking about it. If I looked only at the table, family, the inner walls, I was fine. But every time I looked at the outside walls and moving it would bother me, but not enough I had to leave....just get it out of my head I was moving. It does move very slowly and if you try to just forget it, you'll be fine.

OTOH it wasn't one of our favorite meals but the characters were great. The so-so food and the whole moving thing has me glad we did it once, but will be doing other character meals we haven't tried yet on our next trip.

regards

The only way you can feel it moving is the first step onto the moving sidewalk and off of it. Other than that it is just a scenery change and it goes very slowly so you cannot really notice the motion at all.

I never even noticed this moving. I think you will be fine!
