does anyone besides me think that Disney is crazy for doing this?

florida - the heat and humdity capital - so mold and mildews are a BIG problem anyway.

now they are just encourage mold to grow.

would think Disney could find other ways to save money NOW - getting rid of mold later is a bad, bad ideal.

that is one reason that I think SSR already has a mold problem.

there are products for kepting mold on painted walls (you put in in the paint) - but nothing for tile. (after you have the problem there is something - but the ideal is not to get the problem)

I didn't know this- We will be on our first trip next year- But, My daughter is allergic to mold & mildew and it will provoke an asthma attack that is not pretty- So, if motion sensored does that mean at night when people are sleeping the AC goes off as well as while you are at the parks- when you return to relax you have to wait awhile before being comfortable? Please explain more

I stayed for 2 nights last week at SSR. When I awoke during the night and the room was warm and stuffy, I'd sit up and wave my arms around until the AC turned on. Kind of weird. It worked, though. It didn't take much for the sensor to detect there was a hot woman in the room.

I found that fairly annoying at SSR - which is the only resort I noticed the problem in so far. However, I often stay there in a studio, which is small, and the AC controller (and motion detector) is roughly at the foot of the bed. So I found that when I get hot, I could raise one foot under the sheets and it would trigger the AC to turn on without ever having to get up or sit up.

Does anyone have the list of which Disney resorts have these installed? I can only recall SSR having that issue for me - a few weeks ago at OKW the air blasted wonderfully all night, and I don't recall any issues at POFQ in March either (but then the weather outside was cooler in March, so it may not have been as noticeable). July in SSR 1-bedroom didn't seem to be a problem - two of us stayed there, with one in each room, and the AC seemed fine. It usually seems to be SSR studios that turn off at night.

I think I saw this tip posted somewhere on these boards and have used it at other hotels--get a mylar baloon and position it where the AC moves it around and the sensor will "see" it to keep the AC from turning off. It really frustrates me that these things turn off during the night!

Why not overide the T-stat it's simple!!!

If you would like to set the temperature in your room for 3-4 days:

Press the Power/On-Off button and the Fan/On-Auto buttons (the top two buttons) at the same time.

Press the Power/On-Off button and the Down Arrow (as indicated above) at the same time.

If you do this correctly, "bp" will appear on the readout.

You can then adjust the temperature to your desired setting.
