Mothers day - present?

My Dad buys my Mom a Mothers Day gift every year. I don't think my FIL does the same for MIL.

Yes, my DH always thinks of buying me a present and he says it's from the girls. They do go with him to help pick something out.

Tonight he took us all to the mall and as we were eating dinner he said I want to get you something but I don't know what. Awww I said I could always use another shirt so we could go to Walmart or Target. He took me there and I found a really pretty top and it was on sale for $7.

DH buys me a card and we have a big cook out so he does the cooking (and shopping for the cook out too!).

Technically he does buy me a present but I always pick it out myself!

Normally, yes.

But I got back yesterday from a 3 day trip. My sister and I took my mom to Lancaster PA as a Mother's Day gift to her.

I told him that the trip was my gift. I had a delightful time with mom and my sister. Not only did we spend the money for me to go, but my husband did all the running around with the kids for 3 days. That was, by far, gift enough; there's nothing else I want.

But he did stop and get me flowers for my return yesterday.... he's such a sweetheart!

I always buy my wife a Mother's Day present. Tomorrow I will make her breakfast, we will go to church, then later grill ribeyes. At dinner she will get a card from me with an airline itinerary. I bought her a plane ticket to go visit her family in a couple weeks.

You are the kind of guy my DH is :)

As far as mothers day, I better have something good coming my way or an IOU. My DH is in charge of the bills and has most of the money under his jurisdiction so he has more available for me then I do for him. I still save and get him something nice for Fathers Day too. (I also buy for my ex husband too). I need to go run out and get a present for Christine for Mothers Day. I have my Mom covered <3

Sort of. He made me cinnamon rolls and fruit for breakfast, and bought me a plant and a king-sized Hershey bar- and a card from the kids.

So, yes, I did get a present. I just didn't get a big, expensive present. And that is OK with me! :thumbsup2

My ex hasn't given Mothers Day a thought in at least 8 years.

My parents usually help my daughter pick something out. She is 12 now and they assumed she was taking care of it this year. She forgot about it til this morning so I ended up with nothing : ( I know it shouldn't bug me, but it does. I don't expect a huge gift or anything but a card would have been nice, you know?

My boyfriend, on the other hand, woke me up by bringing me breakfast from McDonald's :). See, I'm easy to please lol

My kid's dad is in Vegas right now with a new girlfriend that she paid for the trip :rotfl2: (we've been divorced for years)

He use to buy me gifts for the kids when we were married for 20 years.

Now that the kids are older, they do the things themselves.

Yesterday, my oldest son cooked bbq chicken, brocolli rice, corn for me and his wife. My grandkids gave me a small rose plant and a card.

My youngest daughter and youngest son (in their 20's) are taking me out to dinner for chinese tonight. They ask what I want which I prefer. They gave 100 cause I want some Teva's but don't know which ones yet.

My oldest daughter is working but she's taking me out to dinner sometime soon. (pizza dude just pulled up next door, guess someone is getting pizza)
She buys me things throughout the year for no reason.

My husband bought me an iPad mini :yay: with our young kids.
It was a wonderful surprise, but not expected.

Some years he buys me something, some years he just goes out of his way to clean up or make a special dinner.

He's a good guy! :lovestruc

I'll let you know. He has in the past.

EDIT: I'm fully expecting to not get anything this year. I didn't remind anyone (1 DD and 2 DS) that Mother's day is coming.

Well, here's how it came out -
DD sent flowers with a really nice note, and a phone call (she lives about 600 miles away). DH got me a card and some candy (always a good bet for me!)

DS #1 & DS #2 - nothing.

EDIT: Just a little update. DS#2 picked up a card after his study group meeting in the afternoon, and DS#1 stopped by WalMart after work (11 pm) and got me a card.:goodvibes

Well, I lucked out today! My DD20 was home, so she and DH took me to IHOP for late breakfast. Then we walked it off at the mall, where my DD helped me find some lipstick at Sephora. After that we took in that new Tyler Perry movie "Peeples". They got me a new camping chair, a camping T-shirt and some silver earrings. And DS26 called me from Utah, where he is working for he summer.

I am indeed very blessed. :goodvibes

Does your husband buy you a mothers day present?
Nope. Mainly because he knows I would be furious. I think Mother's Day is a hallmark day. I don't need any presents for something I chose to do - be a mother.

He did sneak me some roses and we do use the day as an excuse for the family to go out to one of the great brunches in the area.

I would much rather spend the money on something we can do as a family like a vacation.

Nope, I'm not his mom ;) however, I do get to spend the day doing whatever I want. He's in charge of chores, cooking, etc...

The kids gave me a gift card to home depot so I can go buy potted plants for the seasons. Love this!

Dh gave me cash. I may use a bit to buy a couple of t-shirts at Wal-Mart for myself, but the rest will go as gifts in graduation cards to nephews and friends kids who are graduating this month.

Dh gave me the camera we've been eyeballing for kids sports and vacations. In his defense (it was super pricey and a complete splurge) we don't do xmas presents that savings goes to kids presents, we don't do our anniversary because it is DD2 bday and our "half" anniversary is xmas season. So this wonderful gift came at just the right time and is truly treasured!

I had amazing day. DH made breakfast and dinner. He and the girls bought me flowers, a curved shower curtain rod (installed, too), a new car charger and a beautiful bead for my bracelet. I didn't have to do dishes or laundry and played outside with my kids. Heavenly.
