I'm having trouble coming up with a gift idea for my mother-in-law. DH is no help, so don't suggest I let DH "deal with it."

One year we got her some meals from Omaha Steaks when she was in an accident and her DH was sick. Another year I sent her some Bath and Body works stuff. A couple years we went in with my SIL and got MIL some new dinnerware and a chef's mat for the kitchen. One year I made a small photo album (brag book) that had all her kids and the grandkids in it.

I'm stuck for ideas this year. Her DH (not my DH's dad) recently passed away, so I don't know what she may like or what might make her sad (like a restaurant gift card).

What about something like a "Reader's Digest" subscription? If needed - they have a large-type version too.

Hmm. That is a thought. Maybe a magazine subscription?

I might ask my SIL what magazines my MIL gets.

Thanks.

Yes, a magazine subscription would be nice for her, or a beautiful Hydrangea or something to plant in her flower bed if she likes to garden. Jewelry is a great gift also if you know what she likes, or several fun baking mixes (like from Williams Sonoma or somewhere).

I actually did look at the William-Sonoma website before I posted this question! That is an option too.

Thanks!
