At my sons' school on Friday, a mother had to be asked to leave because her costume was not appropriate for school. My husband, saw her in the hall and had to do a double take because he couldn't believe somone would wear that to a school, let alone an elementary school, then he saw the principal run up to her and ask her to leave. The costume was a very revealing witch costume.

I can't believe there are schools that still allow anyone other than students or school personnel to wear costumes!

Why wouldn't a parent coming in for a party be able to wear a costume? :confused3

Last year we had a HS English teacher dressed in a very inappropriate vampire costume--I'm not sure what was funnier the look on the administrator's face or the look on every teenaged boy who stopped by the room for Trick or "treat"! Seriously though she was reprimanded and I noticed she didn't even come in on Friday this year! Sometimes I would like to know what others are thinking when they make decisions!

we had this at the 8th grade dance. Some of the moms that were in charge of the refreshments were wearing revealing clothing. You can't help but wonder if this is where the daughters get it from. Our school has implemented stricter dress codes this year. Too bad it doesn't apply to the parents.

So that there is no issue with identifying someone that should not be on school property. And I'm sure the fact that it prevents problems with inappropriate costumes is a bonus.

All persons coming into our school have to sign in so that really wouldn't be an issue.

Maybe she was just trying to fit in with what the rest of girls were wearing? :confused3

I don't understand this comment. What rest of the girls? Patsal didn't mention any other girls in her post, only the one teacher. :confused3

We have a teacher who has this issue as well. She then hikes 'em up even higher for the 9th grade formal...and the other end is not well enough covered, either...and then wears heels she can't walk in.
And in addition to being inappropriate for school, it's nothing she should really be showing off anyway :confused3

What is wrong with some people?

On New Years Eve I was talking to a friend of a friend who proceeded to tell me about how her 14 year old high schools son's one friend called her hot like she was proud of it. I stood there open mouthed and before I could stop myself I blurted out, "You do realize that's not a compliment, it's both weird and disrespectful. Complements come from men my own age not kids and that was no complement." Ewwww, she made my skin crawl.... yuck.

for us to properly judge, I think pictures of her in costume need to be posted !!!

hehehehehhehehehehe

RUM?

Sorry no pictures, he didn't have a camera. The teachers had requested he take pictures for them.

Volunteers in my school all wear a lanyard with a big tag on it identifying them. I would have missed all my dressed up parent volunteers on Friday! The parents getting into the spirit made the experience even for fun for the kids.

Was it the Candy Corn Witch? We are teasing one friend relentlessly for wearing that one to school (And she wore it with pants - although that wasn't the revealing part.) She could carry it off though. Me not so much.
