Another music question: I want to dance with my sons and my fiance with his mother, any idea for a song we could use? What have others used as mother/son dance songs? Should my sons and I have one song and him and his mother another? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Dawn

How about You'll Be In My Heart from Tarzan? Any other ides?

Exactly what I was going to suggest. It is the perfect song for that dance in my opinion!!!

Some songs that played at my sister's wedding (non disney) for those kind of dances were "What a wonderful world" by Louis Armstrong and "Sunrise/Sunset" for the father/daughter dance.

My DH used a song from the back street boys for his Mother/Son dance. It was sooooo perfect. I'm sorry I can't think of the name of it but it's a son telling his mom how much she means to him.
It's is beautiful.

The Perfect Fan by Backstreet boys. It's an awesome song from the guys to their moms.

I think it’s really just personal preference, but I think I might have your DH dance with his mom separately from you dancing with your sons. Of course, it would work fine the other way too. Another song choice is “Because You Loved Me” by Celine Dion.

DH danced to Sunrise/Sunset with his mother for our wedding. My Pop and I had a medley of 3 songs....Daddy's Little Girl, Michelle (by the Beatles because my name is Michelle) and Hit the Road Jack (his request, and our little secret till the actual dance). Pop and I have a great relationship and a pretty good sense of humor. We had LOTS of laughs!!!

My dad is won't be at the wedding he is too sick to make it so there won't be a father/daughter dance. My son is actually the one that asked if he could have a dance with me so maybe I will have my fiance dance with his mom and then I will dance with me boys. My sons both said though they would like a Disney song so first I thought of the song from Tarzan "You'll be in my Heart" but today I was also thinking maybe "Circle of Life" from Lion King. Thanks for the advice!

My DH danced with his mom to "I Hope You Dance" - the words were beautiful...

"I hope you still feel strong when you stand beside the ocean.
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens.
Give the heavens above more then just a passing glance...
And when you get the choice, to sit it our or dance...
I hope you dance, I hope you dance."

Everyone was crying! It was a really nice moment.

My dad picked the perfect son to dance with me (and I had never even heard it). It was a huge surprise...he wouldn't even tell me, and the dj kept it a secret!! When we were dancing, he said beware, it's long (approx 4-5 min) don't listen to the words, we will both cry. I'll give you the cd and you can listen to it on the plane...which I did.

It was "If I could" by Ray Charles. I guess Barbara streisand wrote it and song it for her son (so I heard) and ray charles remade it...it worked perfect for us. I absolutely love the song, too!!! So either way, could me mom/son or dad/daugh. Unfortuanatley my hubbys mom wasn't at our wedding, but he danced w/my mom, instead and they danced to what a wonderful world.

I used the Josh Groban song "You raise me up" for the dance with my dad. My husband's mother had died several years ago, so he danced with a family friend who he's always been close to, and they used "angels among us" by Alabama. It was really touching, and they were both crying by the end of it.

My husband danced with his mom to "when you wish upon a star". The song was shortened and some of the instrumental stuff at the end taken out, we also did voice over messages to our parents during our songs. Anyway, the song was perfect for them, both huge disney lovers, and I heard there was not a dry eye in the room.

My hubby and I used when you wish upon a star as our last dance.
We, also, were announced and came into reception to the mickey mouse march :pug: (hey it's a pic of my dog...too cool)
