Mother/daughter trip! Rentals and help!

A mother/daughter(11 yrs old) trip !!!
last minute trip, we decided to do a smaller xmas and go to Disney !!!!



I will be going for 10 days leaving Dec 29th, only want a rental the last couple days (to get to Universal) ... haven't rented in Orlando before ...

Is this a good plan $$ wise ?

~Hire Car to get from airport to hotel.
~Rent a car for last 3 days .. using car to get back to airport, flight leaves Orlando at 7pm.

So is this a wise choice? What rentals are easiest/cheapest to get ?

Will they delivery car to hotel?

Where do I book rental, what web sites should I be looking at ?

You can get a rental onsite at WDW (you didn't say where you were staying) at the CCC near MK or at the Dolphin Resort (this is where we usually rent. Both National and Alamo have rental desks at both locations. You can check rates on their websites.
Both have drop offs at at MCO.
We find it easier to take a transportation service to and from MCO and just pickup/drop off a car at the Dolphin. You always have the option of having them pick you up from the Dolphin to go back to the airport after you drop off your rental.

You aren't that far from the National/Alamo Dolphin rental. You could also get there by taxi, WDW bus or if you are at Epcot that day you can walk from the Intl Gateway through BW (it's a really neat place in itself). Walk takes about 10 minutes at a leisurely pace.

We have always gotten a car service to get us to and from the airport. About $100 r/t. Then you can use either the towncar service to take you to Universal for about $50 or a cab or the Mears shuttle service. Just a thought if you don't really want to bother with a rental.
