Hi-
My 20-year-old daughter and I are planning a WDW trip in mid-May. I've just started to work on our touring plan. I don't feel we need to follow as much of a commando mode as we have in years past since it's just the two of us and we aren't going at peak season. Nonetheless, I want to have a plan in place to follow if we need it.

We are planning to be at AK on Wednesday, May 17th. Here is what I have planned so far. Any advice or suggestions to share???

*Arrive at AK approximately 30 minutes before opening at 9:00 a.m.
*Head to Expedition Everest and pick up FP. Ride if the standby line is short.
*Head to Kilimanjaro Safaris and ride
*Head to Kali River Rapids - if not warm enough to get wet, continue on to Primeval Whirl Ride.
*Ride Dinosaur
*It's Tough to be a Bug (use FP if wait is more than 30 minutes)
*Lunch at Rainforest Cafe at 1:00 p.m.
*Fit in Flights of Wonder and Lion King
*Maharajah & Pagani Trails, if desired
*Catch Kali River Rapids, if not done earlier in the day.

Thanks for any help you can send my way!

DM and I will be at AK may 14th, and our plans look similar. We won't be eating a sit down lunch.
But EE is definetly our first stop!

I'd say the 4 top things would be EE, the Safari, Dinosaur and definitely the Festival of the Lion King ....if the day warrants then Kali River sounds good.....also for a breather , the parade at 4pm(?) is loads of fun and not long enough to be annoying....

remember, you need some time for shopping, browsing and strolling! my 22 year old daughter and I are coming next week for 5 days ( 3 in Disney, 2 in Universal) ...kind of my Mother's Day gift to her ( doesn't sound right, does it??!!)

it's our first trip of this kind ever...and she hasn't been to Disney in 10 years . we are going to DTD Wednesday evening ( aahhh, Wolfgang's & shopping) , MK on Thursday and Epcot on Friday...we are pretty much winging it as far as rides, I guess we'll discuss that on the plane ride down..

whatever you do, I'm sure it will be wonderful , we all need to treasure these "magical" times - have an awesome trip!!!

Are you planning to head to the Safaris right after EE or go to the closer DinoLand attractions?

Glorydaz-
Have a wonderful time with your daughter! We leave Illinois on Mother's Day for WDW, so I know what you're talking about when you refer to the perfect Mother's Day gift. Yes, these will be times to treasure with those daughters of ours. Have fun!

We aren't big dino fans, so we will probably head towards the safaris then festival.

If you're going to walk the Pangani Forest trail, I'd recommend doing it near the time of the Safari ride, since the two are right next to each other. Otherwise, you're criscrossing the park.
