I have read that you can rent motorized carts at all the parks. My mother doesn't get around as well as she use to and we are consdering it for either Epcot or MK to give her at least 1 day of easy travel. Has anyone rented one of these from the parks and if so how easy was it, did it help and when you go on a ride, what do you do with the cart?

I am also interested in this information as well as the price if anyone has that. My DH has been having major issues with arthritic type symptoms and is in the process of being diagnosed. I want to be prepared for our December trip if it is a permanent situation. Thanks.

You can rent an ecv for $40 a day in the parks or from an off site company... ( the one from an off site company are smaller, and the bus drivers are helpful so no problems getiing around the parks or resorts)
I already have one reserved for my trip in Dec.. from Randy's mobility..

See the disability board for more info..

We used Randy's Mobility in the past for my Mom. They were fantastic! They drop it off and pick it up right from your hotel. Just do a google search on Randy's Mobility and you should get their site. I can't remember if their web page has the apostrophy s or not.

Follow the link in my signature to get to the disABILITIES Board.
Near the top of that board, there is a disABILITIES FAQs thread that can answer most of your questions. There is information in that thread regarding the companies that have been used/posted about most by DIS Board posters (including phone numbers and links to websites).
The motorized carts are called ECVs and in most cases, you can ride it right into the lines. You will leave it at/near the boarding area and it will be waiting for you when you exit the ride. There is a link in the FAQs thread to the WDW Guidebook for Guests with Disabilities which has more information.

Sue's right- you'll get lots of good information on the disABILITIES Forum!

I'll move this thread there. :sunny:
