Has anyone stayed at the Motel 6 in Cocoa Beach? If so what was it like and would you stay there again. We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in the past, but I see Motel 6 is 60.00 a night compared to 152.00 for Holiday Inn Express. I'm just wondering what the property is like. I have already looked at Dave's site for hotel info. All we need is a place to sleep the night before our cruise and any help is appreciated.

Haven't been there myself, but tripadvisor.com has some reviews you may find helpful. Just search for Motel 6 Cocoa Beach.

We are coming in around 2:30 in the afternoon and by the
time we get there it will be 5:00ish, we will be up early and gone to the port
so why pay more? The Passporter Cruise book recommends it, so for $56:00
it will be fine, saving more for the cruise!! :earsgirl: :smooth: :bounce:

I agree. This is where we will probably stay too! When we go, we won't get in until late and then we will leave early so we don't see the need to pay for much more than a nice place to rest our head and the Passporter gave me the impression that this Motel 6 was just that! :flower:

I am staying there too, I booked my reservation on line and it will be 44.00 for the night, this is for September 9 we will not get in until around 7 or 8 that night and will leave early the next morning for the ship, so I didn't want to be out alot of money for a few hours.
The Passporter has it listed in the lodging section of their book, the authors have stayed there and recommend it, they state "the clean motel features an outdoor pool, cable tv, and a laundry room. It is only one block from the beach."

Just booked a room at courtyard by marriott in cocoa beach...2 queen beds and queen sleeper sofa for 145.00....AAA rate. We are a family of 5 so we need the room. Plenty of listings on expedia.com. We cruise in July but was afraid to wait too long to make reservations.

This is where we will be the night before our cruise. We won't be in Orlando until 8 or 9 p.m. so we really just need a place to sleep, it's not worth it to us to pay such a high price for some of those hotels! Would rather spend the extra money on stuff on the boat!! :sunny:

We stayed there on the 15th of April before our cruise last week on the Magic and it was terrible. The first room they gave us smelled like dogs, covered up with lots of air freshener. I have a dog in my house and it has never smelled like that. The second room they sent us to hadn't been cleaned that day. I was ready to get my money back and go somewhere else, but dh doesn't like to cause a scene so we tried a third room, which wasn't too bad.....except for the several rooms full of drunks down the way from us that kept us up til 3:00 in the morning. There were a few other reasons also, but I'm not mentioning they since I don't want to start any big discussions here, but there is no way on earth I would ever stay at that Motel 6 again, and we promised each other we'd never stay at another low budget hotel again.

We've stayed at the Hampton Inn in Cocoa Beach and it is quite nice - It is very clean and very quiet. One benefit to staying at the Hampton is that they let you leave your car in their parking lot during your cruise and use Art's Shuttle to get to the port. Art's was only $3 per person when we went in November. Art's will also be waiting for you after your cruise and will shuttle you back to your car and will park right by your car so you don't have to lug your luggage around the parking lot.

The Hampton is a little pricier but you do get breakfast and they have free internet in the lobby. I'm willing to pay a little more when I know that I'm going to get a good night's sleep before leaving on our cruise.

What was the Holiday Inn Express Cocoa Beach like?? We are staying there for a pre-cruise night next Saturday.

We stayed there for a WEEK before our cruise exactly 1 year ago today and we were very impressed at the size of the room we were in. It was on the back side of the motel facing the ocean. We were able to see the ships in the distance from our room window. The room was very clean with no smells, we had a microwave, fairly large dorm refrigerator, tv, dining table and very comfortable bed. It was just me and hubby but he liked the room as well. And we only paid $42 per night!! Got a non-smoking room just like we requested. We are sailing again in Sept. and are staying at the Doubletree only because we wanted oceanfront this year - but - we would not hesitate to stay at Motel 6 in the future, especially if we were staying longer than one night.
