Most versatile gift card for Dis parks / resorts?

HI all -

My GF and I are taking a trip to WDW in October and have some money we'd like to save for the trip by putting into a giftcard. What type of GC is most likely to be accepted at all souvenier shops, restaurants, parks, etc? I see my options as a Disney GC, Visa GC, American Express GC, any other suggestions or tips?

I would get a Disney gift card. As far as I know, it's accepted all over the property. Plus, I believe those other gift cards charge you a fee when you buy them.

I would definitely do the Disney GC. We did that on our last trip. Got a $300 one in the planning stages and then we knew that that money was earmarked for Disney only.

I also agree with getting the Disney Gift Card. It's accepeted all over the property and there is no fee for purchasing it. If you order on line at the Disney Store, you can put whatever amount you want on it (minimum $25), choose from lots of fun designs and shipping is free! You can also buy them at stores such as Walgreens or CostCo but there are set amounts already preloaded on the cards which may cause you to have to buy multiple cards.

Every one in awhile I pick up a Disney gift card at Target. Using my Target Red debit Card (which is not a credit card, more of an ATM), I save 5% on my purchase. A couple dollars saved, here and there, adds up!

I am planning to buy the GC at my stop n shop because my credit card will give me double points for grocery store purchases

I know they have visa and amex up to 500 but I think the disney ones are much smaller amounts. I ma getting several hundred dollars and dont want to worry about keeping tabs of a bunch of cards.

I do like your points about no fees though...
