Hi everyone,

Just wondering where you would recommend as the most romantic place to dine on Disney property.. My partner and I will be celebrating our anniversary while we're there, but I'm having trouble choosing the best place to spend an evening of fine wining and dining!!

Any advise you could offer would be greatly appreciated...

When I was looking at dining options, one of the places that I wanted to do was The Vineyard Room in DCA. It is located upstairs in the Gold Vine Winery. I don't think you can get much more wined at least. It is supposed to be pretty elegant.

One place I have been is the Blue Bayou... if you can have dinner by the water it can be pretty romantic... but the food is just okay, nothing spectacular.

I can not say this often enough, for a fantastic, romantic meal

THE NAPA ROSE

THE NAPA ROSE

We celebrated our 4th anniverary there and had a wonderful expierence. Great food, attentive service, with all you'd want for amibience & atmosphere.

ESPN Zone!!!

(I'm kidding, of course:P)

I guess it depends on your definition of romantic.

In the Downtown Disney district at Disneyland (Calif) we went to Tortilla Jo's, and there was a mariachi band that went from table to table. I think they sensed us cringing because they avoided our table on both occasions we were in the mood for Mexican. Still, it is a nice atmosphere and the band gives it that romantic kick.

We also went to Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria (or was it Napoli? I've forgotten now. They are next door to each other. The one that has the outside courtyard bit...). At any rate, good wine selection; good food and their deserts are magnificent.

We didn't eat at any of the restaurants in the park (I'm restricted by my rampant vegetarianism), but stuff in the New Orleans Square area looked nice, albeit a bit expensive and with potenital booking issues.

We love the Blue Bayou (got engaged there!), and have heard nothing but great things about the Napa Rose...

It sounds as if Napa Rose is the winner so far, and we will be staying at GCH, so not too long a distance to walk in heels!!

Loomis- how was the food at Tortilla Jo's? We're thinking of dining there for the first night.. I'm really not a planning freak (promise), just looking for the slightest diversion from studying- BIG exam tomorrow.. :earseek: .. Roll on December..

As for Blue Bayou, DM and I are hoping to book it for the whole family (there's six of us altogether); it looks lovely- can't wait to watch those fireflies sparkle.. :goodvibes If it's anywhere near as nice as the San Angel Inn in Mexico (of World Showcase fame, where Mum and I had a fantastic meal in May), I'll be chuffed!

Thanks for your input guys, any other thoughts/advise- please share!

We went back for seconds later in the trip, so they must've been doing something right :)

As I said, I was restricted by my rampant vegetarianism, but they had a really good selection for use vegos. You can always count on Mexican and Indian restuarants to cater to us herbivores. Anyway, my girlfriend isn't a vego, and she really enjoyed it too. There is a great selection of food from appetizers to mains, although I didn't try and desserts because I was too full by that stage :) Unbelievable tequila selection too!

Good luck with the exam (I know the feeling all too well).
