In your opinion, what is the most romantic resort at Disney World and why? Anniversary and/or honeymoon... Thanks!

WL because of it's cozy, lodge feel or Poly for it's lush, tropical feel.

The Grand Floridian would probably be the one. The rooms are very posh. The decorations are geared toward elegant rather than fun. There are probably less kids there than at the Polynesian and Contemporary. And I think they have a spa.

We haven't stayed there since 1989. But we've gone there frequently to eat and soak up the wonderful atmosphere, a great break from the hectic park nearby.

I think you can get a lot of answers to this depending on people's personal preferences. A friend of mine and her husband stayed at the GF during one of their trips without kids. They thought it would be super romantic but said the decor made them feel like they were staying at grandma's house. But I know plenty of people that think the GF is romantic.

For me, the resort with the most romantic feel would be the Poly because of the tropical theme. On the moderate level, I'd say POFQ or the mansions section of POR have a romantic feel.

DH & I go to the Poly almost every year for our anniversary without kids. It's very romantic with the lush landscaping and torch lit paths.

The Poly as you're surrounded by a tropical atmosphere and walking around at night under the lit tiki torches is romantic :cloud9:.

Another vote for the Polynesian. My DH & I always take evening strolls around the resort. We love the tiki torches, tropical foliage, the music playing in the background, sitting on a swing on the beach or lying in a hammock....

I would also vote for the Poly. The lush landscaping, the beach...it's beautiful. For a mod, I would say POFQ.

I don't think any of them have a super romantic feel but I get what you are looking for and I would say that several are tied. I can't comment on staying there but I do visit them often to eat and shop.

The Grand Floridian is the most posh and very old school. But it does remind me of grandma's house or a fancy retirement home. It just depends on what your tastes are like. While waiting for my tea reservation in the lobby I saw a couple of older folk sleeping and hardly any children. It is beautiful though.

Polynesian is beautiful as others have said. At night it's really lovely with the tikki torches and the beach is beautiful. The pics of the rooms here look so-so to me. But I've not been physically in one. Also, there are a lot of children here and it can get noisy. But it would still be one of my top choices for you. You can get "lei'd" before you ever make it to your room. :rotfl:

Wilderness Lodge is a great choice if you like mountains, forests, wooden furniture, and the great outdoors. I'm not even into that stuff (more of a tropical girl) and I still felt this resort was breathtaking. It's worth a visit even if you don't stay there.

Animal Kingdom Lodge is very African and also breathtaking. I've actually been in the rooms on this one and there is something to be said for chilling on your balcony watching giraffes and zebras walk by.

I would consider any of those equally. It just depends on which theme appeals to you more.

I've stayed at all of the Deluxes except the Poly (hate the theming there since I frequently vacation in Hawaii). My choice would be AKL. Actually, I like AKV better, a 1 bedroom with that gorgeous master bath with jacuzzi tub.

Another AKL lover here! This resort just ticks all the boxes for us: Atmosphere up the wazoo, fabulous restaurants, lovely grounds, very friendly staff. Just can't beat sitting on the balcony with a beverage and your ever lovin' spouse.

The Poly is very nice too, but is too crowded and noisy for us. GF is lovely, and we enjoy visiting there, but we don't think of it as especially romantic.

CBR would be our choice for most romantic mod- the beauty of the resort grounds just can't be beat and it always seems so serene. But (for an anniversary trip) only if you get a king room. ;)

1. Grand Floridian "if" you can get main building, conceirge, MK view (VERY expensive and hard to reserve). We saved for 5 years for our honeymoon. Amazing. Any of the other rooms are nice, but as a poster above said, have the more "formal" feel.

2. I vote for Baordwalk. We think it is the most romantic (other than the above stated location) and most adult oriented.

Add another vote for the Poly. Lush tropical decorations really make you feel like you've gone to a south seas island.

Grand Floridian, if it's after all the construction is done. To me it has a classy feel above all others. If you can get one of the king deluxe main building rooms, that would be even better, those used to be called the honeymoon rooms many years back. Very pricey though.

I would say AKL Kidani... love that is secluded, so you can relax, enjoy the wonderful atmosphere, delicious food, beautiful animals... can you tell I REALLY like this resort??

Another AKL vote! I think the Monorail resorts are so busy....AKL is much less hectic...and I love the atmosphere!!!

Dh and I honeymooned at WL. It was perfect! Close to MK but none of the monorail traffic you get at the closer resorts. We loved going swimming/hot tubbing in the evenings at the Villas pool - it was usually quiet and peaceful.
