Most romantic dinner at the Disneyland Resort?

I'm surprising my wife with our first trip to the DLR without our child in tow. I'm looking to really 'wow' my wife with a romantic trip.

For the most romantic dinner, I'm thinking the Napa Rose. Do you have any other suggestions or ideas?

That's a good one. But I'd also suggest you consider Blue Bayou. DW & I loved our dinner there.

I agree that the Napa Rose would be the most romantic meal. A lot of people love the Chef's Counter (a 3 hour dining experience) but I have yet to try it. There are only 8 seats so you'll definitely want to make reservations early as they only seat at 5:30pm and 8:30pm (or was it 5pm and 8pm?). Anyway, it's an experience not to be missed! :lovestruc

While the atmosphere of BB is fantastic, we have previously not liked the 'turn and burn' nature of the service. They seem to want you in and out as quickly as possible. The food and service has always been spotty.

On the other hand, our experience at NR was the exact opposite - the staff at closing offered me a brandy with my cigar and lit the fire on the patio for us. Told us to enjoy ourselves and take our time!

Never did the Napa Rose, but I am a big fan of the Blue Bayou, awesome ambiance.

Hear really good things about Napa Rose though.

I would also suggest (if you like the show) surprising her with preferred seating for Fantasmic! or World of Color (If its open yet). Did that for my fiancee's birthday and she loved it.

Good luck

I don't know the answer to that one, but for the price, I would go to Napa. When we were there in January and I got some serious upset stomach issues, we were looking for something fairly bland for me to eat, and there was nothing to be had at the restaurants around the DLH (coffee shop was closed or I would have had some yogurt), so we ordered one club sandwich and two bowls of chicken soup, no drinks as we had water, and the bill was over $50. :scared1: That was steep, in my opinion, even for Disney food and room service.

Definitely, Napa Rose. I have never been there, but would like to go this fall. If my husband isn't interested, I'll take one of the kids.

I like SH 55, usually qiuet, dark. My real first choice would be club 33.

That's a good idea that I hadn't thought of!

Does anyone know which kitchen room service comes from at the Disneyland Hotel?

I could be wrong, but I thought I read someone's post here on the DIS once that said the DLH room service comes from Steakhouse 55. I guess that would make sense.

I'm going to second (or third or fourth) Blue Bayou. The ambiance at Blue Bayou is beautiful and if you make a late reservation (say 8 or 8:30pm) I find the service isn't as "turn and burn" if you go fairly late. (Though we got engaged at the BB so I'm a tad biased, I think :lovestruc)

Napa Rose has amazing food and great service too, but if I had to choose one, I'd pick Blue Bayou. However, if you're looking to go all out and splurge and have that sort of romantic evening, Napa Rose is the way to go. When we had dinner there in 2004 with wine flights, our bill was about $250 after tax & tip, so it's definitely is a once in every couple of trips type of place.

I can vouch for the Grand Californian's room service - I've had breakfast, lunch & dinner through room service and though expensive, it's really good. I once was VERY sick on our trip - went back to our room and ordered their Roasted Vegetable Soup - it was ridiculously good and the only thing I could keep down for days. If your budget allows it, I'd stay there!

We tried SH 55 for breakfast once for my birthday and really liked it. I'd love to go back and try dinner but always hesitate since we tend to try to eat cheaper these days. DS8 and DS10 are little carnivores though, and I would much rather treat to this than go to another character meal (we tried a few when they were littler and tend to go with a vague, "maybe next time" now when asked).

I assume the meat is great, otherwise, why would you recommend it? Any sides or desserts you would particularly recommend? I'd really like to go for it this year.
