Most Relaxing Deluxe

The Grand Floridian would be the most relaxing and calming resort. After a day in the parks, this resort helps me to decompress almost instantly. There is nothing stuffy about it. After dinner in the evenings, we like to enjoy the beauty of the grounds, and sit by the marina and watch the fireworks over the Castle. It's truly magical.

The Polynesian is relaxing, too, with more of an island vibe. However, the Poly can sometimes feel a little chaotic.

For deluxes we have stayed at WL, YC, BC, and CR. Out of those, WL is by far the most relaxing. It's basically a vacation inside a vacation. We wanted to live there.

at first i was going to say poly, followed by gf, but the more i think about it, akl is the most relaxing imo.

I was going to suggest AKL (we find it the most relaxing resort) but the rooms don't sleep 5 and they are kind of small. I think the YC is great -- much quieter IMHO than the Beach Club, but you have that fun pool and a relaxing quiet pool. And it's so easy to stroll into Epcot for dinner if you want to.

We would have to get two rooms at either AKL or WL so I would have to get a reall good deal for that. I looked at GF and its crazy expensive. YC and BC seem to be the most reasonable priced for 5 people. I think CR is the same price but it just doesn't have the same appeal to me and doesn't seem as relaxed from the pictures....I could be wrong but I find you get a vibe for a place and know if it's right for you or not.

CerysG, I would go with Yacht Club then. I've stayed there and it is way less crazy than the Beach Club side. And YC will be refurbished soon, so your rooms will be (relatively) fresh.

I do agree with others about AKL. I adore that resort, but some feel they are too far away from the magic. Maybe that would be exactly what you need! :rotfl2: :)

What's the Beach Club like? It has a certain appeal to it especially being Western Canadian.
BC or YC are great! SAB is the best pool on property, your girls would love it! If you want a quieter pool, there's 2 quiet pools, one at BC & one at YC. I'm not sure if regular guests are allowed to use the BCV quiet pool
I like YC a bit better because all rooms have full balconies. Some BC rooms have small standing balconies. Most rooms are 2 queens and some have day beds. Be sure if you choose to book here to add daybed to your request.

WL & AKL are very nice, but don't sleep 5.

The monorail resorts have the largest rooms but if you aren't planning much MK, it doesn't make sense to stay there.

Thanks Lisann. I actually think we would like AKL but since we would have to get two rooms there I don't see us going there until the girls are paying for their own rooms. Hopefully we will get a chance to try more of the deluxe resorts but I think we'll start with the Yacht Club.

For relaxation, I would go for Poly - my parents stayed there on a trip when they went with us and we loved the hotel (we were at Bay Lake, but visited them). I've always wanted to stay at Boardwalk or Beach Club, but we are an MK family, so we go for the Contemporary area. I would not call those hotels relaxing - but for us it's all about the location.

That being said, we stayed at Animal Kingdom: Kidani Village the first year and it was wonderfully relaxing! Since your favorite park is AK, I would say that would probably suit your needs better than any other deluxe. Make sure you get a Savannah room and you won't want to leave the balcony - gorgeous hotel.

Definitely the GF. It's quiet, clean, serene, and the lobby smells like a spa. I'd stay away from the Contemporary if you like relaxed! It can get pretty noisy. Have a fantastic trip :)

GF.

Nothing stuffy at all 6 year old boy was very happy there. Largest rooms, along with Poly.

Thanks for the info Spiceycat I'll have to book mark it for him. The gym must had treadmills if he wants to run inside.

The Poly is very relaxed and quiet on the grounds and in the longhouses. The GCH is NOT. Dining is very popular there, and it's all in a cluster, so the mornings and evenings are very busy and loud.

I haven't stayed at the GF, but we've dined there a couple of times and it seemed very nice. The lobby didn't get as loud as the Poly's, with people waiting for ADRs, and the band is great. I REALLY want to stay there but budgeting it would be the challenge for us, too! Beautiful grounds, if not as lush as the Poly. Love the Monorail, the restaurants, and the vibe.

CR is everyone's favorite, in my house. The rooms are huge and TPV really IS of the park. We were on the opposite side from Chef Mickey's, so noise wasn't an issue. Lovely large rooms, great location, two beautiful views if that's important to you (we didn't think it was, but we were out on the balcony constantly and will never forget it). We loved The Wave for breakfast. The Monorail had no problems during our stay and we utilized it often (like a ride for my kids, lol). CS was easy, as I hate dealing with different bays with young kids who don't agree on a cuisine. You don't have that issue, though.

We're planning for next summer and looking at BC/YC. I'm pretty sure SAB is anything but relaxing, however the location is wonderful. Rooms are smaller than the above, so we're trying it out while the kids are smaller, too! Love the option of going over to BWI to watch evening entertainment or dine, the plethora of dining choices at 5 different resorts, and easy access to two parks. I'm hoping the quiet pools are actually pretty laid-back, with the popularity of SAB pulling most of the guests ;)...and that my kids will just be happy with any pool when I need to come down off the buzz of WDW!

From the ones I've stayed at, I would rank them:
1. Polynesian
2. Polynesian
3. Polynesian
4. Polynesian
5. Boardwalk

...and way at the bottom....
6. Beach Club

Thanks for the info Spiceycat I'll have to book mark it for him. The gym must had treadmills if he wants to run inside.

all the gyms have a treadmills - that say like the one at BWV better (he can do it too - I think) - it looks outside.

YC is a good choice it will be calmer then the BC. You'll have a longer walk to Epcot or the BW but you'll be closer to the boat launch if you don't want to walk. The YC is darker(wood/colors) then the BC but both are very nice. The Epcot resort area is perfect for getting around WDW your travel times will be shorter.

I would vote for any of these: WL, AK, Poly, BC

You really can't go wrong with any Deluxe Resort.

They only Deluxes I have stayed at are: Poly, GF, WL, BC so I can only comment on those.

I have to pick the Poly because on our day off/non park day I/we sit at the pool and there is nothing better then sitting in the pool or on the surrounding area and looking out and seeing the castle, the boats, listening to the toots early in the am, watching the monorail go by in a distance.

I guess they are all relaxing depending on what you think is relaxing, for me its the view/sounds.

But looking at your park fav's I would go by which resort is closest to that one.
