Most Relaxing/Comfortable CL in Epcot Area?

I keep changing my ressie from BC/YC/BWI and back again. My issue is with the club level. I travel a lot and often stay club level in non-Disney hotels where the atmosphere is serene and there's always a place to sit and no scrum for the appetizers. I know in Disney this is unavoidable, but I like to relax in the lounge. Which of those 3 would you say is the most relaxing place for a glass of wine in the evening? Thanks so much!

In staying at the BC and YC - I wouldn't say either one is "Serene" but there is a balcony outside of the lounge that you could go and sit, just to be away from the crowds. I know from experience that the mornings are chaotic but the evenings (except during the appetizers) are a little more manageable. Usually I got my drink and went back to my room and sat on my own balcony.

Thanks! I'm a mom of young children, so I can find serenity at the bottom of a wine glass or coffee cup even in the midst of relative chaos, so I'm sure they'll all be fine. But I'd like to hedge my bets and try to figure out the best one in advance! :)

I have seen posts about there being a bit of a scrum for the appetizers in the Beach Club CL, but I haven't stayed CL so I can't speak from experience. I can say from experience that the BWI has a more adult atmosphere and the YC has a reputation on these boards of being more adult than the BC, FWIW. Unfortunately you can get bad groups anywhere, and once you have a few people making a rush for the food, the mob mentality sets in.

So, what I'm saying is that if I were looking for a more serene CL experience, I would give either YC or BWI a shot. The deciding factor from there would be whether I wanted to use Stormalong Bay. Again, I can't speak from direct CL experience, just telling you what I would do.

1) Having traveled a lot and I have your same thoughts.
2) There is ONLY one "serene" lounge at WDW.
3) That is Grand Floridian, Main Building.
4) All the others have noisy kids and mad-dashes for appy's.
. . . scrum might be too light of a description *
. . . especially when a cast member brings out a new dish *
. . . most CL folks do not know how to act on Club Floors *
. . . many of the kids are allowed to run wild *
. . . most folks seem to book CL just to pig-out on the appy's *

* In my honest opinion, and from being mobbed when I brought out food.

I have to tell you, I find this somewhat offensive. And the abbreviation of appetizer?? I also find it offensive. Dear God....spell out the entire word.
Are you trying to ell us that the GF has a 'higher class' of guest??? I doubt it.
And 'scrum'??? While I'm not entirely sure of it's meaning, even with a very high vocabulary understanding, it still sounds offensive to me.

I have to say, I find the idea of a moderator on the DISboards who is offended by abbreviations....mind boggling.

I think BWI will fit the bill for quiet because from my experience there are fewer little ones. Never have I seen people "scrum" at any of the club level lounges. We've been to all of them and more than once at each.
BC/YC have more children but they're well behaved.
We stay club level because overall it is more serene.
It's certainly not for the food.
;)Hopefully, we know how to act on the club floor. We don't expect the staff ot act like this :worship::snooty:
We do know that to act superior, means you feel inferior.

Believe scrum just implies a mob intent on getting something....

As in a bunch of journalists crowding around a politician to get a statement - a media scrum. Also used in rugby.

It's not an offensive word.

Scrum is a rugby term. Used when all the players basically get in a pig pile, and try to push the other team out of the way to get the ball. Pretty fun to watch in a rugby game, and I can see it being an applicable term for people queuing for "free" food if they don't have manners.

We have stayed BC CL twice and YC CL once enjoyed both. BC CL was expanded a few years ago making additional Seating and a nice sofa area away from the kids area for a nice evening glass of wine. As mentioned both also have balcony seating area. I think both were evening relaxing but both very busy in morning. Actually think PolyCL was much more hectic then either of them.

We've stayed at every CL at WDW, and BWI is our favorite in this area. The CM's are without peer imo.

Yes indeed. It's a perfect term for most WDW CLs.

This is a very strange post. How can you be offended by a word you admit to not knowing the meaning of? And offended by the use of an abbreviation on an internet board? And no where did the OP say that the guest at GF are from a higher class than the others. He simply pointed out that the atmosphere is more serene.

To answer the OP's question :goodvibes having also stayed club level outside Disney and in Disney outside really is a different experience.

First of all, this is not intended to offend anyone :goodvibes, but a number of guests look at Disney cl from a different perspective than how one might look at an outside cl, ie for some guests it can work out better for their needs if they receive a discount and stay cl rather than stay non cl on a dining plan. I'm not saying nothing is wrong with that at all, we all look for different things out of our stays and have different needs :goodvibes. The lounges are really only serene outside main food offerings, I have stayed cl at YC, GF and BWI at different times of the year and have encountered lines for the offerings, manic lounges at all. Unfortunately it has been far from serene.

I tend to relax in the lounge during non food offering times and in my room or elsewhere when the lounge is busy. My favourite Epcot cl is the BWI but the secret is out how great it is and it's not so serene any more ;). As long as you choose Disney cl knowing it may be 'different' than an outside equivalent choose your cl based on the resort theming/location that appeals and you can't go wrong. :thumbsup2

You know...moderators are entitled to opinions just as the rest of you are. Perhaps I should come up with an alternative screen-name to post my personal opinions under??? Man.
Here's the thing.....I don't have to like the abbreviations. Did I say anywhere that the DIS doesn't like them, or that it's wrong to use them here??? My personal opinion...period. There's a reason children can no longer sit down and write something in longhand...too used to all the computer speak.

And scrum??? Sure, it's a rugby term, but for me??? I find it offensive to use in relation to guests at a WDW resort. Others may disagree. If I had been 'moderating' and tried to stop the use of the word, then sure, you would have something to complain about. Again, my personal opinion. But, I guess we don't get to have personal opinions. Now that, in my humble opinion, is mind boggling!!!

We've stayed at BC CL, YC CL and GF RPC.

Sorry to tell you but there were just as many children at GF RPC as BC CL.

There are always some rude guests no matter where you stay, but I have to say that most of the guests in all the CLs we stayed at were fine. Mornings are usually busier as most people are trying to grab something quickly to get to the parks.

We've seen a few people who are a bit rude when the appetizers came out but that was in all three CLs and was the exception rather than the rule.

If you are really looking for a serene, relaxing CL I don't think you'll really find that at Disney.

Goofy4Tink, I apologize if my post seemed to imply that you don't deserve an opinion because you're a moderator--that was not my intention.

The tone of my post was intended to be one of benign amusement. I found it mildly funny that a moderator on the DISboards, which is sort of infamous for its gazillion arcane abbreviations, would dislike abbreviations.

No offense nor curtailment of your freedom of speech intended.
