We are close to pulling the trigger on a becoming members to take advantage of the current incentive. We are looking at SSR and I had a question.

Based on your experience, what room types are the most popular between the studios, 1BR & 2BR? I know the grand villas are tough to get based on their limited quantity. We prefer a 1BR over a studio as we like to eat a few meals in during our stays and would also prefer the extra room.

Let me answer this through the backdoor. The EASIEST room size to get is a 1 bedroom.

GV can be before studio - but most of the time they are between 2 and 1 bedroom if not after 1-bedroom.

So I should be in decent shape preferring a 1BR as these seem to be in lesser demand.

We've book paying cash and also stayed as DVC members. I've never had an issue reserving a 1-BR unit. Our trips are usually late July or early August, but we have also gone in December (12/16 - 12/22). I've never made reservations more than 5 months out. We are going down one of the busiest times to of the year (over Easter weekend - spring break for us) and at the 5 month window, I got a 2-BR at SSR with no issue.

I will say, though, I never care where we stay. If you have a definite preference, your experience may be different. Best of luck with your decision! For what it's worth, we're SO glad we did!!!
