Most memorable out of parks experience while at WDW

My husband & brother LOVED their Richard Petty NASCAR Experience. It is on WDW property & they both want to do it again.

Depending on what resort you're staying at, I would ask the front desk for anything that might be particular to that resort. For example, WL has a hidden mickey scavenger hunt that my kids went crazy for. We also rented sea raycers one day, and one day rented bicycles and went out to the stables to look at the horses. We also loved watching movies under the stars at night with a whole group of people who were really into Disney.

Even when we have stayed off site, we have always visited the River Roost to hear Yee Ha Bob play. He can certainly bring a room to its feet with his lively piano show. It is a family friendly show and he plays normally Wednesdays through Saturdays. He has a web site of his own that you can verify his show times but get there early as he does have quite a following. You can also take a nice horse drawn carriage ride before his show.

One of the out of a park experience that every one of my family and friends enjoyed is feeding the turtles and fish from the bridge that connects Pop Century and the Art of Animation Resorts. They seem to like greasy pizza crust the best. We found out on our last trip that the water way between the parking lot and the Beach Club Villas is also great for this.

Well I'm from Baltimore been to Chicago a few times loves this place. They opened a few spots in Orlando. So when I go to Disney and have a rental this is must stop for dinner. Everything was on point.

Feeding the fish and turtles my DD would love. Do they have food there (like in those little dispenser machines)?

The turtles and fish are wild and the "feeding" of them are not sanctioned by Disney, just as in any local pond in your home town. As long as its not overdone, no one seems to mind.

If we have any left-over scraps of bread from breakfast or dinner we take them over to the bridge and see what we can bring in. Most of the turtles are Florida Softshell Turtles, a turtle with a very long neck and pointy snout, very unlike the turtles we see up here in the northeast, one reason for the novility. Sunfish, bass and even a gars ( a long thin needlelike fish, sometimes come in as well.

I lead field trips for an Audubon chapter at home, and I find myself giving a free program about Florida wildlife to guest walking by. Something that I just love to do.

We liked HDDR and looking around FW. I would think that renting one of the Sea Raycers would be fun.

No other awesome experiences outside of the parks?!? I thought fellow Disers would have so many fun times to share!

Discovery Cove, we loved this park!!! You spend the entire day there, it is an all inclusive.
and you could try the two mini golf courses near the Dolphin/Swan

We always stay at All Star Sports and my DD's love going to the pool at night where they show 2 movies. It's so relaxing and entertaining, the perfect ending to a fun filled Disney day

We camped at FW twice.

On one trip my DD, DS and I did the horseback riding and also rented the SeaRacers (is that the name?) boats and had a grand time buzzing around the lakes.
