We need to get an entertaining, heart-warming, upbeat thread going. I want to know your most magical DVC moment.

Ours was our first DVC trip--this Thanksgiving at HH. My husband, who hates all the long drives we do (his family is 350 miles away; we visit my Aunt 8 hours away; and HH is almost 12 hour drive), said it was worth every mile! My DD14 and DS9, who don't know we are going back for Christmas week, said as we were leaving HH, "Mom, I can't believe you're not crying. The three of us always cry at the end of a Disney vacation." They absolutely loved it there and did not want to leave.

We will be going this time with our friends who have a DS3 and DD2months. It will be truly wonderful.

DH and I made our first trip home over Memorial day weekend this year. Sunday evening we were having dinner at the California Grill. the lights dimmed and we had the most magical view of Cinderella's castle and the fireworks! I had tears in my eyes thinking there was no where else in the world I would rather be and it was then that the second thoughts that we had spent too much money on DVC vanished forever.

We had quite a few magical moments for our first DVC trip. Even though we've been home for about three weeks, I just can't stop thinking about it and wanting to go back as soon as possible!

My sister and her husband stayed at Hilton Head with us and I was able to upgrade their studio to a one bedroom unit. They were so impressed and believe me my sister does not impress easily. She has not stopped talking about the villa, the island, the service and everything about the trip since we've been home. We are planning a repeat for this coming September and they insist on paying for their own unit this time (more points for us to use for ourselves - yippee!!).

Another magical moment for me was when we pulled up to our one bedroom unit at OKW. I just loved the landscaping and the details. Once inside, it seemed that the villa was almost as big as the 2 bedroom we had at Hilton Head. We went to dinner our first night at 'Ohanas and while the food did not impress me as much as I expected, when they dimmed the lights, pipped in the music from the MK and the fireworks started going off over the castle, I could barely contain myself! It was worth every penny of the money we have spent for our DVC to have been there on my ninth anniversary with hubby and I know without DVC it would not have been possible.

I could go on and on about how our first DVC stay was so memorable and magical but I'll stop here. I am very grateful to be a DVC owner and can't wait for our next trip!

Most magical DVC moment was our first visit home 2/2001. Walking through the doors of our 1BR, with our mouths opened, my DD says "this is all ours?" (we usually stay at the All Stars).

We love DVC and are waiting on pins and needles for our first Christmas in Disney.

I wont ruin the thread by posting about our 2002 trip,

Our most magical moment was Oct 2001 when we got to be the flag family at the Wilderness Lodge. It was what made us become DVC members.

Hopefully someday we can create another magical moment

Great idea for a thread. I'll contribute!

We just returned from a week at VWL with my husband and my sister and her friend. While I was so glad my sister was finally able to experience WDW at Christmas, my husband was really wanting more alone time. Soooo, at about 10 pm one evening we went out on a photography mission. Each year we concentrate on a certain aspect of Disney and take really different pictures. Well this year it was VWL and WL lobby. We spent about 3 hours photographing just about everything. It was so cool to see the lobby become 'sleepy' and quiet at WL.

We don't use a flash and really got some great shots. And great alone time.

When we paid off our DVC.Now we only have the dues for 39 years.:(

My most magical DVC moment was after our first trip to VWL.

We went to check out....and there was no room charge!!! Now that's magical! :)

Okay, okay...I know you're looking for something with a little more "pixie dust" :) .

I'd have to say when we came into the WL lobby on our first trip to VWL....and were impressed as always....and then went down the walkway to our 1BR unit. Both my daughters eyes got huge and they couldn't believe we would be staying in such a cool place "at WL".

As always, the children seem to create the magic and put things into proper perspective! :)

My very first trip using DVC, was the most magical for me. I had combined 2 years worth of points and got the Grand Villa, and invited the entire family down with us (9 all together).

As we were pulling into OKW, my son started jumping up and down, and shouting, we are here, we are here! Well, I knew then that I did a good thing by buying into DVC!

Then, when we got to the Grand Villa, my son was running from room to room, saying, we are living in a castle...LOL.

Then, one other thing I remember, My Dad said, this was the first time since Everyone left the house that we were all together for a vacation. And, come to think of it, it's the very first vacation we all took together. Made my day!

Most magincal moment was waking up at the Wilderness Lodge at about 3 in the morning, looking out our window and seeing the castle lit up in the distance!!! That was really cool. Another was 2 years ago finally seeing "Tinker Bell" before the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom. In all the trips since I was a kid, I never saw Tinker bell fly threw the air!!

My most magical moment was our first trip home to Boardwalk in December of 2000. We booked a one bedroom preferred view and got a view of the Boardwalk! Our balcony was decorated with lights and Christmas garland (as part of the resort themeing). From our room I could see Spaceship Earth with the big 2000 over it. It was a warm December (unlike this past weekend when we were down there) and I remember my DH sitting on the balcony in shorts on the phone with family back home talking about the snowstorm they were getting.

It was also the first (but not the last) time we got to see the magic of Disney at the holidays. Wonderful!

Can I tell you when I get back..... February 1, 2003????????????:earsgirl:

My most magical moment was probably last summer. I have been begging my parents to join us since we became members in 2000. We finally convinced them to come down last July. Our party consisted of my family(me, DH & DS's 11 & 12), my parents, and my brother and his wife (who joined us all the way from CA!). I couldn't believe we got everyone together, and as much as I would love to see it happen, I doubt we will be able to get everyone down there like that again. I am so glad, especially for my children, that we were able to share at least one extended family vacation to WDW. Hopefully it wil be one that they will remember forever!!

We have had far more than our share.

Belle took our DD to ride Peter Pan that was cool. Then she took her to ride Small World.

We opened MK.

One manager in Epcot convinced our boys he was collecting Dopey pins and traded them everything he had for the cheappins.com dopeys the boys had.

A few years back DD got to paint a cell with the pen and ink guy at MGM. She pained at his station for about a half hour encoraging her to stay interested in art. He would introduce her as a future Disney Animator.

We have met great bell hops and wonderful exchange program interns. Just slow down and talk with the case and say thanks a lot.

I guess our most magical moment was walking into our lagoon view room at the Polynesian and seeing the view of the castle. We have had many memorable moments but that is something that we will both never forget.

We've had so many magical moments over the years! That's why we joined DVC, as a kind of thank you to Disney. It was a thank you to ourselves, too, the best kind of thank you! Of course, walking under the train station at the Magic Kingdom and walking out the other end into all that magic--that was 1976, and it still thrills me to remember it. More recently, our trip last Christmas sure was awfully magical. It was our first time at Christmas, and we were there alone--the whole family had cancelled out, and we had created lots of hard feelings because we had decided to go anyway, so we were kind of "down". We just wandered over to MGM, and they were closing the park early for Christmas Eve. The guard said we could visit the Osbourne Lights, though, if we wanted, so we did. Talk about magic!! They even had snow coming off the buildings! It was wonderful!! At that moment I forgot the anger I felt for my family, and the anger I felt from 9/11. For that brief span of time, it was like 9/11 had not yet happened, and I could just be free and happy, the way we used to be. The whole vacation turned out that way, and it was truly a gift. I'll never forget it.:)

I know my family has had many magical moments. A few I can remember right now are:

--My oldest DD meeting Minnie Mouse for the first time when she was 2 1/2. I will never forget her running up to Minnie & giving her a giant hug. The picture is priceless.

--My 3 DD's faces when they walked into our FW cabin & saw all their beanie babies & stuffed animals arranged, along with "washcloth & towel" animals. Every day they talked about getting back to the cabin to see what Isabel our housekeeper had done. Our family has since kept in touch with Isabel & we visit her at FW almost every time we are in WDW.

--Seeing my 84 year old grandmother's face when we took her to the Osbourne Lights last Christmas. She saved her glasses & still shows all her friends how pretty the lights look when you look through the glasses.

--Every time we enter the WDW gates is magical for me. :)

I am all choked up. These "moments" are beautiful. In a world of hurry and hassle and stress, WDW really is magical.

Keep the memories coming!
