After months and months of watching Jet Blue's fares go up and down I finally felt as though I should bite the bullet and buy my tickets.

I have never paid so much to fly on Jet blue. I just paid over $300 per person roundtrip from Boston to Orlando. :sad2:

I personally think it has a lot to do with the impending Delta strike. I just couldn't risk the prices going up more, or flights selling out.

At least it's done now, and I can concentrate on reading the disboards, and packing instead of watching the jetblue website!! :teeth:

YES, I see with your dates, you were under the gun to get the tickets...but sheesh...that is so much money.

I will tell you IF they come down at all, Jet Blue does credit you with FUTURE TRAVEL CREDIT. Keep checking EVERY SINGLE DAY. It they budge...call them right away and get your credit to use for future travel. ::yes::

That being said....I just have to tell you last FALL '05 I started fooling around on the JB website and came across $39.00 EACH WAY air fare Boston to Tampa (M&D are in Tampa) and so for a measley $78.00 DH & I got to FLA. :teeth:

We then rented a car and drove to WDW for a Land and Sea trip....but still
$39.00 each way....man we were thrilled. I had NO plans last OCT to even go South until we saw those air fares and PLANNED our trip around my air dates.

I check ALL THE TIME. Kinda like an obsession. Was Boston your best airport as vs Providence RI (Southwest) or Manchester NH (Southwest)??

Okay, that's a little close-in. For next time: My understanding is that JetBlue's policy is that the fare pretty consistently climbs as the flight gets full. Generally, the fares when they introduce the flight are the lowest they'll be.

Bicker, you have it on the nose, unless jetblue is advertising a new city, route or someother marketing issue. Jetblue seems to follow a similar pattern to DCL for pricing.

Did you consider Worcester to Sanford.??? Its 74 each way. They also have shuttles to bring you to disney world resorts... for 21 each person.

I have been watching Jetblue for our June trip flying out of Boston too. We have to purchase 6 tickets in all. One being a newborn that we want to buy a seat for..so, I too, amy putting it off to see if the rates go down. I currently have a credit of $360 on Jetblue because we had that $39 deal back in December that we had to cancel at the last minute. But, the lowest price right now for our dates is $129 each way..that isn't that cheap especially when we have 6 tickets to buy! UGH!!

I am guessing you want to use your credit with JET BLUE for this pending trip? I saw this sight from another poster www.kayak.com! Check there from time to time for JET BLUE's fares. I saw $109.00e.w. p.p. BUT you should think seriously about getting them sooner than later....as it gets closer it will only ultimately go UP!

Yes, we are using the credit  . But, it still brings us over $1000 for all of us. It's a killer comapared to that $39 deal we could have had last year!
There are a few fares for $89 that I have my eye on but we will have to leave 2 days earlier and our trip is already for 11 days. We are actually booked for June 16-26. I would go a day earlier--the 15th..my kids get out of school on the 14th.
I will check out that site.. I'm going to book my airfare as soon as I have my trip paid off. It's due on May 1 which is the same day that I am having our 4th child!! Not to mention a First Communion for my son 2 days before..money, money!!! I wish it grew on trees!! Boy, do we need a vacation!! :woohoo:

I DREAM: Check out that whole scenario...if you can get FAB rates with JET BLUE without breaking the bank and ultimately staying with in your CREDIT range...then go a day EARLY...but also make sure you can get a ROOM and that paying for that room or rooms and adding to your park hoppers and dining plan is NOT going to put you OVER the top $$$$-wise. Do you follow me on this...

For instance we got the $39.00 pp rt JB and we paid MORE for the LIMO that took us back and forth to the airport than we did for the air fare....

I feel your pain...I booked dh and dd from Boston to Orlando back in Jan. It was $79 pp, one way, on May 16...a nice direct flight, at 7:00...exactly the time they needed. Well, within 10 days, they changed the flight to 4:55, made it connect in JFK, and raised the fare to $239 pp!!! Then it went to $109, and now is back up closer to the $200 mark. Glad I booked when I booked. But, we are flying home on Delta, on the 21st. I'm sticking with Delta for as long as I can...I just can't pay what JB is asking for on the return trip.

Yes, I agree that we have to weigh the difference of getting another day of the rental car and room. I guess we are staying our limit on the park and dining plan and can't add another day. I don't really mind staying in a cheapo deapo motel that first night if we have too. When we drove last year, we actually stayed at the NickHotel for one night. Plus, if we go a day earlier, we are taking a later flight (2 p.m.) compared to our usual early, early, flight of 7 a.m.

I checked out that website www.kayak.com and saved it in my favorites. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks to all who felt my pain :sad2:

I had a credit with Jet blue from a cancelled trip to Tampa (round trip for half of what I just paid to Orlando) So, even though I did check other airlines for lower prices, in the end it was still cheaper to book with JetBlue.

I've never considered flying out of Worcester, although it will be something I consider in the future. We live almost 2 hours away (near Plymouth MA) so it would have to be a GOOD fare to lure me out that way.

And I will keep checking the website (it is also an obsession for me now too!) and if the fares drop I'll be sure to get my credit for my next trip. :teeth:

Someone mentioned there is a shuttle from Sanford to WDW? How is this? Reliable...how do you book it? Does it stop at every resort?

My Jet Blue flights are currently $129 ewpp....someone on this thread mentioned that Jet Blue flights typically don't go down. When I called the ticket agent though she said to check over the first two weeks and it might change? I still have one week. Then I think we should grab them. I'm worried about fuel costs as well.

Yes there is a shuttle from Sanford/Orlando to WDW right to your RESORT. My son just flew out in March to WDW. Allegiant Air gave them a $21.00 each p.p. voucher to WDW and I think they had to ADD some $$ to it??? I don't remember and he is in another state and I cannot ask right now. BUT call Allegiant Air OR go onto the S/O website (if they have one) and check it out. I know my son checked that all out before booking...he wanted to make sure he could actually get to WDW. He said it was great, no worries, the shuttle was right there waiting for all from that flight to board and de-part for WDW!!! :thumbsup2

Here in Portland Maine we are getting Jet Blue in May. I was so excited to hear we were getting a "low cost" airline that I immediately went on line to check prices to Orlando for August. They were $359 per ticket!!!!

If that is low cost, no thanks!

I understand that is alot of $$. However, I was informed that JetBlue starts with a base price.. right now for Sept and on is $89 pp each way.. Last year I was told that after 10 seats( I think) are sold they go to $99, then after another amount keeps going up.... So they shouldn't be coming down.
See if you can adjust your days a little for a better price...

Also I was told if you are looking for more than one ticket always ask the price for 1 ticket first... Then ask for your total amount.. We did this one year.. We needed 2 tickets and was told the price was $79pp each way. When I asked about 1 ticket it was $69pp each way for 1 ticket, and $79 for the other...So I booked them that way and saved $20. Look at the $$ airlines are making from a family of 4! Say you need 4 tickets and there are 3 at the lower price, and one at the higher... they will charge you the higher on all 4.

Hope this saves someone some $$.

How does this work with wanting to buy multiple tickets but ask about price for one? I need to buy 4 tickets and it did show one flight $20 cheaper pp. Two tickets would be for minors. Can I still do this? Sorry for all the questions, just have never heard of this and not sure how to do it. If I can.

Forgive me for not reading all of the posts following your original one.

I am an avid users of all airfare sites. I get emails from travel reminders etc...you name it. I also greatly appreciate the 'quickfare finder' spot on Bestfares.com. I am not a member but I do regularly check for airfare there. I just recently bought my July tickets on USAir for $121 RT pp from Cincy to MCO. I usually don't buy tickets that far out but it was a good deal so I jumped on it.

Right now from Boston to Orlando thru 5/23 I see that Airtran, AAA, and USAir have RT for $178 each. I did not go to each individual airline site to check it out but those aren't bad rates. I am not at all familiar with Jetblue.

It really pays to do daily homework on airfare. If I can help in any way...let me know! Have a great trip.

Esmerelda :)
