Most Exotic Food at DisneyWorld

What do you think is the most exotic food that is served at DisneyWorld? That is to say, the food that you would have the most difficult time finding available at your home town/city?

The selections at BOMA are the most unusual. JIKO also has some interesting appetizers but their entrees are not that unusual (good though). I don't think any other places have anything that I could not get here at home.

If I had to choose one dish, it would be boboti, served at Boma. We like it so much I found the recipe on line and now make it at home.

I don't think Disney dining really offers much that I'd consider exotic. They offer great variety and some restaurants have dishes that are hard to find in some places (buffalo steak isn't generally found on restaurants here in Michigan...), but the overall selection isn't any more exotic than what you'd find in most major cities.

I agree with the previous poster that the more authentic African selections from Boma and Jiko would be the hardest to find around here. Buffalo steak (California Grill & Artist Point) would be pretty tough to find here too.

Disney used to offer considerably more foods I'd put in the exotic category than they do now. They seem to be moving to the "Appleby's" approach, which I guess people like but I find boring. We used to enjoy some exotic appetizers at Spoodles and the Nuevo Latino cuisine at Maya Grill. But, alas, no more. Spoodles has greatly reduced its menu options and Maya Grill abandoned Nuevo Latino in favor of standard issue chop house.

Having said that, we still find that Jiko has some interesting and unique options. Artist Point still has a couple of items here and there, buffalo steak, for example. Les Chefs de France offers escargot (which is delicious, by the way, although the rest of the menu has suffered due to DDP).

Beyond that, I'd suggest V&A, which offers caviar, foie gras, Japanese wagyu beef, sweetbreads, etc., all at a price, of course.

The restaurants in Morocco (Epcot WS) may be another uncommon option.

Since we live in an university town we have quite a few "exotic" type places here. No shortage of African/Moroccan cuisine. That given I'd have to say Artist Point for the buffalo or perhaps Akershus. We haven't been since it became a princess meal but back in the day we had quite a few things you can't find back in Baton Rouge. Come to think of it Biergarten would be more exotic to us than anything at Marrakesh or Boma.

Boma's has a pretty weired variety of foods but they are all really good. We ate there once and that one time, was very, very tasty.

I wish I was there know. :goodvibes

They've already been mentioned, but I'd have to agree with the nominations for Artist Point, Jiko and Marrakech.

Living in a metro area, we have a great selection of all types of cuisine. As for Disney, the selections at Boma seem more "interesting" than many Disney menus. ;)
