I will try and keep this as short as possible. Just got back from a week at Fort Wilderness. We stayed in our camper in the 300 loop. The groups consisted of me (39 year old dad), Maria (35 year old mom), Angela (5 year old daughter), and Karol (64 year old grandma).

We arrived last Saturday and we were actually on schedule. Checked in about 2:30 P.M. While setting up camp, my hot water heater in my camper shot water every which way, so no water in the camper for the trip. No biggie, we were close to the comfort station (which was very nice and clean the entire time we were there).

Saturday night we saw the Spectromagic parade and the fireworks. Angela and I rode many rides. We rode Buzz Lightyear 3 times Saturday.

Sunday, Angela and I made the early entry and rode everything in Fantasyland. She got many autographs and pictures. In the afternoon we made the Haunted Mansion, Thunder Mountain RR and Angela's new favorite ride-Splash Mountain. Then it was off to the Magic Carpets, Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Caribbean.
One time on Buzz Lightyear and we were back at the camper for dinner by 7:00 P.M. Burgers on the grill. Sometime during the day, we also went to Belle's storytime and had a pizza somewhere for lunch. Angela was asleep early as was Karol. I took in the the water parade on the lake at 9:45 and had a beer or 2.

Monday, we went to the Animal Kingdom. Rode the Kilamanjaro safari ride first (my wife's favorite ride). We saw the Lion King Show (which was great). then the Pocahontas show which I didn't think was so good but Angela enjoyed it. Then we watched the Tarzan Rocks show and we were all a little disappointed in that. Don't know why, but maybe because we were all getting a bit tired. We then rode Dinasaur ride. We all liked that one. We left a bit earlier than planned, went back to Fort Wilderness, had a late lunch, then went for a swim. The water was a bit cold. When we asked the lifeguard, they turned the heat up a bit in the pool. At 7:00, we went to the sing along with Chip and Dale and roasted a few marshmellows and sang some Disney tunes. The movie was The Rookie, so we passed on that and went back to the camper. Angela fell asleep before dinner. Got some to-go food from the resturaunt by Pioneer Hall.

Tuesday. We went to Disney/MGM Studios early. We rode Star Tours and the Great Movie Ride. Angela got autographs while Karol and I rode Tower of Terror and the Rock N Roller Coaster. Angela and I went to the Playhouse Disney show, which was okay. She liked it, but said next year she would be too old for it. 5 years old and too old for something! We also saw the Little Mermaid Show. We ate at the Toy Story Pizza Arcade. Got a few more autographs then hit the Beauty and the Beast show. the 4 guys singing before the show was great. We all enjoyed the actual Beauty & the Beast also even though much was cut out from movie. Tuesday night we went to Mickey's Backyard BBQ. It was fun. Angela really liked dancing with the characters. I liked the beer that was included with dinner.

Wednesday we went to Epcot. Rode on Spaceship Earth. Then we went on Mission Space. Angela and I loved it. Maria and Karol didn't. Angela and I rode it a second time because Test Track wasn't going yet. Then we had a character breakfast in Norway. It was good. The food was good, but there were 4 of us at the table and the skillet had 3 of everything. I guess we could have asked for more, but really didn't need it (Maria was still a bit queasy from MIssion Space.) After breakfast we went to Honey I Shrunk the Audience (Maria's favorite attraction) and then to the thing with Figment . We then went through the entire World Showcase starting in Mexico. It took over 6 hours for us to make the tour through all the countries. Angela like the Maelstorm ride in Norway. I liked the British Invasion group in Great Britain. Maria like the movie in China. Karol enjoyed shopping in each place. Quite a trek around the loop. After that we found a little igloo place with all kinds of free soda from around the world. Angela was drinking soda like she was posessed. Good thing I stopped her or she may still be on a sugar high. It was pretty cool.

Then we went to the Living Seas. Seems they could do more with that area. I dove in the aquarium a few years back and had fun then, but didn't care to do it again this time.
Then it was back to Mexico for a nice dinner. After dinner, everyone was whipped so we went back to the camper and turned in missing the Illuminations show.

Thursday, we were at the Magic Kingdom for the morning and afternoon. Rode Space MOuntain and Buzz LIghtyear several times. We also went to the Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain and several other rides. We had a nice lunch at the Harbor House. Rode a few more things and made it back to the camp ground by 3:30 . Angela took a pony ride at the petty zoo. She was pretty bored with it. She has had her own pony and been riding for over a year at home. She liked looking at the horses at the barn though. At 6:00 we headed back to Epcot. Rode Mission Space again. Angela didn't want to ride test track so we wandered through Innoventions and some other stuff before heading off to find a spot for Illuminations. Maria and Angela picked up Mexican food, Karol and I picked up Chinese and we met and ate in Norway. Then we watched the show and went back to the campground

Friday morning Karol and Angela took the boat to the Contemporary for the Chef Mickey breakfast. Mickey was only there for a minute and then left and didn't return. There were lots of other characters so Angela didn't mind. When they got back to the campground we headed over to Disney Quest and spent a few hours there. I had never been there before. It was great -the virtual Pirates of the Carribbean is really cool. At about 3:00 P.M. we ate at Planet Hollywood (which was terrible). By 4:00 P.M. we were on the way back to cold Michigan.

The trip was great. We had much better weather than our ill fated cold trip a few years back.

We missed Mickey's Philharmagic and It's tough to be a bug. Next time, I hope we can spend more time at the Animal Kingdom.

I hope everyone else's trip is as wonderful as ours. Boy did it stink going to work today.

thanks for the report. Was Philharmagic up and running? Just curious as to why it didn't make your itinerary.
We're going in a few months and I'd get panicky if it wasn't working....

:earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

you did so much and saw so much.....bravo to you all........NOW you said that the little one did Mission space ......I am soooooooo chicken....please tell me how she did it.......thanks so much for your great report....

Sounds like you had fun.

Thanks for sharing.:sunny:

I can't believe how cold it is here! We almost made it to 70 last week.

Great report - can't believe the rides your 5 year old went on.... what a little daredevil!!! It is snowing here...too depressing for words.

I loved your report. I sounds like you were able to do alot. We will be at FW in 96 days!

Great report! You sure got a lot done!

Philharmagic was going, we just never made it into the show. We were on the way a couple times and got sidetracked.
Something to look to do next year.

Angela, my 5 year old, loved Mission Space. She has been looking foreword to riding it for months. She saw it on the web site and even made a patch for it. Angela and I rode it 3 times. My wife didn't make out as well, she only rode it once and almost got sick. That ride took my wife out of action for an hour or so.

I still have never made the water parks at Disney. Maybe because we go to Soak City at Cedar Point so often in the Summer and it isn't a priority.

Oh well, enough on this trip. I do wish I had found this board much sooner. I think it would have helped us plan a little better, but we got most things done on our to do list.

Now we just have to decide if we are going back to Fort Wilderness in 2005 or taking a Disney cruise. So many options, so little vacation time and money.
