California Grill is the best, we go there every year, sometimes twice. The food and atmosphere are wonderful.....very special. :thumbsup2

The ONLY place at WDW that REALLY reflects these qualitites IS Victoria and Albert's. While you can get fine wine pretty much anywhere, the only place to GUARANTEE exceptional service and wonderful ambience is V&A. Why not? Just asking!

Victoria & Albert's - no contest. It's actually the most elegant in all of central Florida.

Personally, I love Citrico's. I've had excellent service every time I've been there. If you're seated by a certain set of windows, you can also catch the fireworks. Add to the general ambience an excellent menu and it's a must do for me. :thumbsup2

For fine wine, good food and good service, but not V&A's, I'd suggest either Artist Point (a wide selection of wines from the northwest) or Jiko (wide selection of wines from africa).

Maybe also try out Bistro de Paris. We aren't allowed to go (DH doesn't like french food) but some relatives have been and said it was GREAT.

Bistro Paris is the only restaurant on property that comes close to V&A in terms of food quality, ambience, and service.

I have to agree with others ... if you are looking for these things in a dining experience why wouldn't you just go ahead and dine at V&A? It's an unbelievable experience. :thumbsup2

Is the Bistro the one upstairs? (Because we have dined downstairs at lunch)

Yes.

They don't accept the dining plan so there are very few families with small children in the dining room. It's more of a traditional French menu - we actually ordered the degustation menu the night we dined there and it was tremendous. It was also a very relaxed evening ... I think we were there for about 2.5 hours.

We love Bistro de Paris, have dined here many times. Except for V&A, it's the only Disney restaurant that I would call elegant.

In order of our prefernce:

1. Artist Point
2. Jiko
3. Cali grill (used to number one but the lat two times it has been extremely chaotic and a mad rush fro people seeing fireworks) still great food.
4. Bistro de Paris
5. Yachstmen Steakhouse
6. Narcossee's/ flyin fish tied

Also do not discount the Swan/Dolphin places like Bluezoo, Shula's and Il Mulino

I cannot comment on the wine list but
Wolfgang Pucks was certainly nice the last time we were there a coupla years ago.

Our next trip will have ADRs to
the Luau,Bistro de Paris and Artist Point but we have 4 more nights to fill we will be looking here, allears and WDW's site for menus and views.

Cali Grill can have a lotta kids,FF as well and it is sorta loud but there are tables and booths in the back with no traffic and quieter.

Hands down, Bistro de Paris is the only thing that comes close to V&A, and it is wonderful. The other signatures can be great, but all are a little more casual in service and ambience, in my opinion. And as for CG, the view can be nice, but it is the LOUDEST and most chaotic restaurant I have ever been in in my life. Definitely not for the experience you seem to be looking for.

My choices, in sequence.

1. Victoria and Albert's
2. Bistro de Paris
3. Jiko

You can get some good wine at other spots, but I'm agreeing with those who suggest that other than V&A, only Bistro comes close. I wouldn't call it elegant, but it does have a kid-free ambiance that's hard to find at other WDW restaurants.

Jiko was lovely. I thought Narcoossee's would have been elegant, if it wasn't for the screaming toddler 5 feet away from me, who was unhappy for about 45 minutes, while his mother just sat there (sorry, mini vent! LOL!). If it wasn't for that, it would have been ideal.

If you want to consider other local parks restaurants Bice and Tchoup Chop are both pretty elegant and the food and service is impeccable in both.

In any case getting away from noise can also be done by visiting mid-week during off-peak seasons.September rocks for food in Orlando.
