Most Disney brides on this site?

I know there is no real way to know, but do you think that most of the Disney brides participate in this subforum? I would think anyone that would get married with Disney would have enough interest to know about this site, or would at least have to come across it in a search..

So what do you think? Just curious.

I have a feeling that there are many who use this as a resource, but don't always participate. I know I was watching this site for a couple of years before my first post! But, I can't imagine the hundreds of brides Disney has every year would all end up here, or even look for it.

I lurked for months, I mean MONTHS before I posted anything.

I found answers to any question I could have possibly had, and more. I only started my pj after I pretty much had the ball rolling.

I would imagine that any Disney bride who isn't satisfied with the few pictures on the Disney websites ends up here. Here, you get a more personal feel as to what your day is REALLY going to be like.

I just need to keep reminding myself to lay off on the rants, as I'm sure our guests will find their way here too

I'm guessing maybe 1/3 of Disney brides come here. If you look at the 2011 weddings thread you can see that there are just over 100 brides for 2011 - fair enough that's just at the moment, and not everyone knows when their wedding will be, so that number will grow - but if there's roughly (or probably at least) 1 wedding a day on Disney property, the there's another 265ish brides out there...

Is there method to my madness or what?!?!

I like it!

Disney actually does more than 1,500 weddings a year at WDW alone (the cruise line and Disneyland bring it up to about 2,000 DFTWs total), and the percentage of those people who post on these boards is very small. It's a shame, because there's so much helpful info here and so many great ideas—I never would have known about half the cool stuff we did at our wedding if it hadn't been for the DIS. At the same time, I'll bet Disney's glad there aren't more of us DIS brides out there, since we have a tendency to clamor for this or that special thing/experience/treatment that we read someone else here had!

I would never have known about it if it weren't for a lovely friend, who told me that her sister (who got married in WDW) posted on here and found it helpful!

I have found it INCREDIBLE, without the DIS, our holiday and wedding would be so much less than it will be now.

I love the DIS wedding boards. They were so helpful when I was planning my wedding.

I know that aside from this board there are a few others, but the ones I do know of are either invitation only (another DFTW bride invites you/recommends you) or you apply for membership and are approved.

Yeah I can see the disbrides being a little harder to handle, not in a bridezilla way, but just because of all the info they find out. I probably never would have considered having a Disney wedding if not for here.

My planner does come on and read this board every once in awhile as I'm sure most, if not all of the planners do and she told me only about 10% of the brides that get married at WDW ever mention the board to them!

I was like WOW! when she told me....

Weeeellllll, most brides do not post on here if they read it. We had been planning our wedding and had our day in mind. It was even on the page for 2011 weddings and I thought I was in the clear because no one else wanted our date/time, etc...boy was I wrong! We ended up with our 2nd choice because someone else wanted it and then after thinking about it harder we wanted to change the timing bc we really wanted an evening wedding...and boy was it hard to find a new date/time for our ceremony and or reception location that wasnt taken..it was a task!! So, no not all disbrides are on here or posting..it definitely made me feel like I had a chance at my 1st choice and then i found out otherwise..how many other brides must there be to have such a hard time resituating the day and time over 16 months out?? sheesh! Anyways we are happy with our new date and no one can steal it...(except a pesky convention) I am always amazed when I find out just how many other real disney brides there are..for so long i kept on my rose colored glasses and thought it was just us girls here...
