Most desirable DVC resale

That has got to be the most open and honest comment for this whole thread! :rotfl2:
It’s so true. We stayed in an overwater bungalow on actual Bora Bora for our honeymoon and I would never spend the points to stay at a bungalow at Poly ...

Poly is the best deal right now. Once VGF prices stop going crazy attention will probably turn to it. The walkway to the MK will be good for Poly guests too, in combination with the TTC making it arguably the best positioned resort. It has amazing theme at a time when newer resorts seem to be backing away from anything too immersive, it's an icon, it's a young contract, it costs a fortune to get a room there for cash, etc. I still can't believe it can be had for <$140 but doubt it will last.

I know it has no 1bdr or reasonable 2bdr options but I think that's a weak argument against it. The rooms feel huge and the bathroom situation is better than some 1bdrs

Poly is a great deal right now. We actually just stayed there and had such a great time, we almost immediately bought a contract. We really wanted the extra space of a 1 bedroom so we went with BLT. The walkway from the VGF is going to be a long walk and the walkway from the poly to the grand floridian is already a moderate walk. Its worth a stroll, but I don't expect a lot of people staying at the poly using it. We were actually torn between BLT and VGF. The point chart at BLT clinched it for us though. Theme park view being cheaper than lake view at the grand floridian and the actual view was what sealed the deal. Although I could see us still looking at poly at 7 months sometimes if its just 4 of us. The lake view rooms there have one of the best views of all. I just really wish there were 1 bedroom options.

I agree. I don’t see many people walking from POLY to MK. If anything, the VGF walkway should help alleviate the shared buses issue between the two. I’m ok with studios only and currently looking to add on at POLY, although BLT would be a close second. I just think I’d have better luck getting POLY at 11 months for a Dec trip.

Well it is next year so maybe it will. You just never know. But thanks.
I misread the date - thought it was May of this year.
Yes- let's hope next May this Chinese Bat - $hit Virus will all be a distant memory

We are seriously considering buying into DVC through resale. We aren’t traveling there again until 2021, so we have some time. I’m going to see if resale is affected at all by the recent stock market downturn. We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids about to turn 5 and 8). We want to buy enough points to stay in a studio for a week each year, most likely in February, or bank and borrow our points every now and then to invite family or the kids’ friends when they are older. My end goal is to be able to take hopefully take grandbabies some day! We love the BW area, but the deed expirations knock those out. We rented points to stay at BLT the last few trips for split stays, and that is my husband’s favorite resort because you can walk to MK. We also are considering VGF (one of the few resorts we haven’t stayed at) and Poly (knowing we’d have to get 2 studios to travel with family or friends or stay elsewhere). We didn’t love the rooms or having to walk outside to get to our building at the Poly, but we loved the location and the direct view across the lake of the castle. CC is even a consideration, but I feel like there resale is high still from it being a newer DVC property. Discussing this with my husband brought up the question of which resorts are the most desirable for resale if we decided unload. Do you know which resorts are currently the most desirable for resale? Also, which resorts are the easiest to have rented out? TIA

Based on your criteria, BLT is the way to go

My son and DIL got back from Poly 10 days ago and they were disappointed. We've spent time there as couples and as a family, dining and enjoying the ambiance every single trip and though they enjoyed their studio size and amenities (extra shower), they think it will be a mobility issue for me...so sad. We are looking to add on (grandkids on the horizon) so I guess AKV goes back to first place, for now...we love it. We gift them a couple times a year based on what we have available and OKW has worked well since our son was 8 (now 32) but we want 11 month priority at one more resort at least.

I'm not sure I agree with this. Poly is one of the newest and def has accessible rooms. I can see how the boats + unreliable monorail could be a mobility issue, that's also true for VGF until the walkway is done. AKV wouldn't be my first pick with mobility issues, those buses are a hassle...

I'm really thinking VGF is a good contender for an add on, assuming you like its style. Prices have already come down, and it has 44 years left on the contract (vs 37 for AKL).

I believe Poly gives you best outcome whether you will be using yourself or possibly selling points with Copper Creek right behind.

Copper Creek is great also because if you don’t have the 11 month window usually not available at least for a studio

From a recent buyer...

We bought AKL first and we LOVE it. But only because of the values. Getting a 4 day trip for 30 points is amazing. The kids like the animals but we otherwise think it’s an ok stay. If you like space, this is hard to argue with though.

Then we bought PVB. This is not desirable at all on resale. Which is weird. Low on annual dues. High rental demand. Insanely convenient. Yes, studios only. No kitchen but two bathrooms. With a family it’s hard to make a call on this one. The transportation methods are great. The lack of space is not. at the rate these things rent out, they’re going to need to set up a fast pass queue. The ability to bypass security bag check at MGK (they check you at monorail boarding) is an underrated thing. Especially if you have kids. You’ll get the same at VGF but you’ll sacrifice that walking from BLT.

I’m now looking for a third contract. BWV or BCV. Why? Walking distance to Epcot through the back entrance.

What I’ve learned is that one isn’t enough and reservations at non home resorts can be tough to come by. BWV and BCV doesn’t make the best financial sense, but it makes for a great last leg of a stay. Being able to grab food at Epcot after checkout before the flight is a nice and calming way to end the vacation.

But back to your question. VGF and VGC holds the strongest resale. They’re quick to get snapped up and they hold high values. BCV does as well if you’re willing to deal with a shorter contract term.

That is awesome I didn’t know they had a security check point before you get on monorail
