Hello, I am planning my very first trip to WDW and need help on figuring out where to stay. :confused3 I have done hours upon hours of research to find the best suited Disney Resort Hotel and have it narrowed down to Contemporary and Polynesian. While theming is important to me (which sounds like the polynesian has much better theming)- the most important things to consider is convienence to all parks by resort transportation (not just MK), at least one counter service (open late which I believe both have anyway) and its an adult getaway (just DH and I). Thanks for your input!

My boyfriend and I,(we are in our 40's), like the Beach and Yacht Club. You can walk to HS or Epcot, walk thru Epcot to ride monorail to MK.

Actually I think the most convenient would be one of the Epcot resorts. The Beach Club or the Boardwalk. You can walk to Epcot, or take a short boat ride. You can also take a short boat ride to Hollywood Studios. If you have Park Hoppers you can walk through Epcot and take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom.

Epcot is almost in the middle of everything.

While I agree that the general boardwalk area is the actual closest/most convienent to the most parks- I dont believe any of them have a counter-service available till late (well they dont have one at all as far as I know). But as far as info like: I can walk through EPCOT and take monorail to MK is actually really valuable info so thanks anyway. So between Contemporary and Polynesian... which one of those two are the best bet?:hyper:

My thought is the Contemporary. It is less than a ten minute walk to MK (distance from MK bus station to CR is about the same as from bus station to MK).

For convenience stay at the Poly - ask for "Rapa Nui" - then you can easily walk to the TTC Monorail stop (closer than the Poly stop) - gets you to MK and Epcot and the TTC Bus Stop for the other parks. You can't beat the island theme - IMHO CR theme is "noise"

Out of those two.... I'd probably say the Contemporary would be the best because of the walking trail to the MK. (I'm just looking at the transportation side of the resorts).

I Believe all the monorail hotels tend to share buses to AK, DTD, MGM, etc.... at least during the non-peak times, so there really isn't a lot of difference (other than that MK walking trail from the Contemporary) transportation wise between the Monorail resorts.

Both Poly and CR are close to MK...
EPCOT the Poly is better as you can walk to TTC
for the rest lets just say the bus service is not so good for the most part...
I love the theming at the POLY by far over CR if that helps...
In all honesty no matter what resort you stay at in the end if you go to all 4 parks you will spend about the same time traveling.
For what feels like the least amount of time on the bus to all parks look at Old Key west. I mean the least as in it seems about the same amount of time to which ever park you go to. Most other resorts are closer to one park over another and you may spend 10 minutes to MK but 25 minutes to AK and that is when the bus, Monorail, boat comes....
As far as resorts you can walk from.. CR is nice at night when the park closes. the Boarwalk resorts are nice at night for EPCOT if you want to eat at one of the countries or watch Illuminations..... Other than that walking during the day, through Epcot to get the monorail to MK or Disney studios  and you will want to drink the water....
P.S. I work in NYC I do a lot of walking....
with that said stay at a resort that has a theme you like and is in your budget. If you can do the POLY you will liley very much enjoy the theme the rooms like all disney resorts are OK
