Hello! We are needing to rent an ECV for 10 days in January for my DH. He'd like a 4 wheeler and wants to go as cheap as possible. He doesn't want to spend money on extras if he can help it and thinks he can just carry everything or "find a spot for it" somewhere on the ECV.
I'm trying to be practical. We will have a stroller with spots for our stuff, but inevitably he'll have his backpack, a drink, a snack, some stuff he wants on him but not in the bag...so I'm thinking drink holder, baskets, hangers, cane holder, etc.
My real dilemma is that we've never used an ECV. We don't know if there will be a spot for him to hang a backpack, or put a drink or snack. Most of the pictures I see don't seem to include these extras and from what I'm seeing on the websites, these extras really add up. He's got a cane and walking sticks, not sure which he'll bring, and I think we need a safe place for them.
I did plan to just bring some baskets I have, along with this cup thing I got at Ikea that cold hold a drink, and then just zip tie the stuff to the ECV. While I want a basket, I don't want to pay $5 per day for it's use if we don't need it.
So, is the zip tie thing an awesome idea, or just dumb, or illegal? Which accessories have you found useful and which would you skip, and why? And lastly, any suggestions on which 4 wheeler would be really comfortable? He's worried about stability, I'm worried about comfort. Does it make sense that when I'm looking at pictures, the ones with thicker seats and armrests would be better? Thanks!
