Looking for a nice restaurant in any of the parks to go to with the kids- needs to be quite a lively one as eldest son is rather bouncy (kids will be 18 months, 4 years, 5 years and 10 when we travel- ds5 has dyspraxia) but also suit celebrating Dh's 30th birthday (so a nice one- table service essential) and suit my parents too (in their late 50s who get quite flustered by DS5s bouncy/emotional nature even though they know it's part of his condition, my dad is very self conscious)

Preferably no seafood- preferred foods american/british menus

Where would you recommend? (kids will have already done the cinderellas table thing with the group before then)

Dh is rather outgoing, (we joke he's peter pan- one little boy who won't grow up :lmao: ) and so heavily formal places really don't suit

So- any suggestions (and can you also state why you'd suggest those places)

Thanks in advance!

For some reason -- we are always at WDW for DH's birthday ... so far we have done:

1. Liberty Tree Tavern. A bunch of servers clapped and sang happy birthday -- he also got a Mickey cake. Kids had no problem with the meal (Thanksgiving dinner) -- character interaction -- pretty cool. We liked it how they called you for your table -- The blank family from the great state of blank. No real embarassment for DH -- but fun nonetheless. We all enjoyed this meal.

2. 1900 Park Faire: Ha Ha this was awesome. Anastasia SANG Happy Birthday to DH. This was priceless. He also got a CROWN and a birthday cupcake. You said you were already doing the princesses but thought I would throw this out there -- we had an absolutely hilarious time watching the antics of the stepsisters and Lady Tremaine. Food for adults so so, food for kids -- they gobbled it up pizza and mac n cheese. If DH did not have the personality that he does - he may have been embarassed -- the restaurant was crowded but the antics and fun made up for it.

3. Ohanas - for breakfast. Our entire table got leis. Lilo gave him a kiss and a cupcake. This is a wonderful meal and we never miss doing this one. Nothing out of the ordinary but great for the entire family.

4. Prime Time. Atmosphere great if you like the kitschy stuff. Food ok -- kids not too thrilled with their meals. He got sang too and the server made him eat the tomato on his sandwich despite his protest of being allergic (which he is not) -- didn't make his birthday but it made my day. Ha Ha.

Don't know if these helped you out at all -- good luck & have fun choosing.

I would go to Ohanas..and try to get a window seat during the fireworks if the kiddos can make it that late. If the kids don't like the menu, they can get chicken strips/mac and cheese etc. instead (even though those are not on the menu). It is lively and they do coconut races with the kids.
Or, Garden Grille at Epcot. It is a character meal, but not too overbearing. the food is good, but not fancy, and we have a good time here every time we go.:dance3:

Whispering Cayon at Wilderness lodge. I haven't been there ,but from what i have read it is really loud and the are all joking aorund with you. Like if you ask for ketchup they bring you ten. Next trip I am definately going to try it out.

We had a really great time at Whispering Canyon Cafe. Lots of organized craziness going on! My family also really enjoyed Chef Mickeys and but I think we had more fun at Crystal Palace, the characters were all so interactive with us and the parade around was fun!!

Thanks everyone! I shall certainly take a look at all those (my passporters guide to disney arrived today- hurrrray! so DH is reading through that right now) We're nearing ADR time for us (we travel in august) so it's time to start making some definate plans.

I was also going to suggest Whispering Canyon Cafe..my girls LOVE it there...oh yeah and MAKE SURE you tell them it is your DH's B-day ;)...lol If you tell them make sure you have a video camera handy!!
