Most Bang for Buck DVC Studio?

If you like being close to MK, then BLT standard view can get you a lot of bang for your buck--particularly if you get one of the standard views that actually has a partial or low MK view so you can watch Wishes from your balcony. We were very pleased to get one of these last August. They go quick, though--for Aug 2011 they were all booked up by Sept 2010.

OKW has the biggest studio room, but im not crazy about the location. BLT and VWL are on the smaller side but excellant location.

.... If you are renting from an owner, it would probably be very hard to get one, since the owner would have to go out of his/her way to make sure they got one of them.
I'll be trying for 2 of these myself for late August next year....

Yikes! Didn't think of the fact that in renting from an unknown owner that they would have to go out of their way to make sure they get one of the sought-after studios. I wonder if a professional service would try harder?

Do you mind me asking how you are going to try to reserve for late August? Directly from an owner or a professional service? Thanks

I'm an owner at AKL, so I'll just be booking it directly.
I've been monitoring it and, so far, the unit seems to be available for early August for a full 7 days (I am waiting for the late August window to open up). I had considered "walking" my ressie, but it doesn't look like that will be necessary.
Again, these value units at AKL are the most limited on property. They exist because Disney converted regular rooms to DVC units when they first created DVC at AKL - so there were a handful of units that wound up with a smaller footprint. This situation does not exist at the other DVC properties (or even at Kidani).

I've been reading all the posts and it answered alot of my questions. Im trying to deside on how to go about renting the pts lso. I wanted to stay at AKV in a studio it would be my DH,DS(10) and I but i think it might be too small. We r looking to go durning star wars wknd as surprize to our DS.

Do you have to wait to book until your entire stay is within the 11 month period?

What is walking your reservation?

There's a lot to learn!

Thanks again

The "professional service" is just a go between to match up owners with potential renters. The owner still has to call right at opening time 11 months out or book online right when it becomes available. There isn't any trying harder. Everyone is equal when it comes to booking a DVC villa.

The "professional service" usually isn't doing any booking themselves, unless the owner of the company has their own points to book.

The three of you would be fine in an AKV studio. If this is for 2013, you can either rent from someone who owns at AKV or wait until closer to the 7-month window and rent from any owner.

No! I did not realize it was a matching service. I assumed they attempted the booking. You Disers are so informative!
