Most all studios booked for May 14-16: Any idea why?

Why are all studios booked May 14-16? I think maybe OKW or SSR might not be, but the rest are. I can't find any special event going on that weekend (except the end of the flower and garden festival). I just thought it was strange that all the studios are booked for those three nights, and its been that way for a couple months now. :confused3 Mostly curious because we're booked for the 14-16th and BWV.

Not a big deal, but did I miss something?

It's less than 2 months ahead. Most DVC resorts are booked in advance.

Not unusual since timeshares (and DVC is a timeshare basically) run close to 100% occupancy at all times, this is less than two months out. :)

What's Destination D?

D23 is having a major event at WDW during that time. Check out the link above for more info.

Not sure if that is the main reason. But add that to being less than 2 months out and the Flower and Garden Expo at EPCOT going on and you've got a full house. DVC is just not really meant for people that reserve only a few weeks out. It can happen, but you shouldn't count on it.

Just goes to show why DVC doesn't work well for people who can't plan well in advance. There probably isn't many times of the year that the same can't be said. More popular times would have virtually nothing available at 2 months out! A friend and fellow DVC member was shocked when he couldn't get a room at three weeks out for the first week of December!

Thanks for the info, guys! This is our first time renting points and we're so excited. We booked it back in October and the dates for preferred boardwalk view were taken then...and slowly since then I've seen the 14-16, studio, become booked at all the other resorts and room views. Glad we at least got the preferred view for the pool/garden. Not a fan of parking lots, personally. :lmao:

Can't believe these D23 events are so popular since they cost so much! Wowza!

That's not really that uncommon a scenario at any time of year.

So true! There is always something going on at WDW. I just found out the week that we are going May 6-14 that Orlando is holding a triathlon that goes smack through the middle of WDW. Add that to the 5K at AK, the Flower and Garden Festival, etc. Probably some cheerleading contest going on too. ;) We also have to remind ourselves that DVC resorts can book up during the slowest times of the year. Look at the first couple weeks of December.
