How are the mosquitos this time of year? I am heading down there in two weeks. A friend of a friend mentioned that the mosquitos were awful right now. I had not heard anything so I was just wondering. TIA!

I saw one on a window at the Polynesian today. Otherwise no. They do have mosquito repellent around various places around the parks and hotels.

Over many trips to WDW, I have only ever seen one mosquito - at POR during a week of very, very heavy rain.

We've never even seen a mosquito at Ft Wilderness campground.

It's a little freaky, really. :confused3

Disney has a world class pest control system. I've never brought bug spray to Disney

As a human mosquito magnet you have no idea how happy these responses make me feel. Because I saw the title and thought OH NO I hadn't even thought of that. I lived in Arkansas for 9 years near rice fields and didn't leave the house from dusk until well after sunup if at all possible.

I have to tell you - my experience this trip (just a couple of days ago) was not like these others. The day that I went to Animal Kingdom I got 17(!!!!!!) mosquito bites on my feet and ankle. I always get some, but I just got nailed this time. This may not be everyone's experience, but I, too am a mosquito magnet - even when no one else gets even one I'll get lots. Just my feet and ankles, strangely. I suggest that you spray for them if you can, especially in Animal Kingdom.

Our most recent trip (July 1-18) was the first time I'd ever noticed mosquitos at wdw, but maybe it's bc I never paid attention before? We had several in all 3 of our rooms at PO-R (diff parts of the resort) and at the Poly.

I got bit last August at the poly. We were watching movies on the lawn. My kids didn't get bit, just me.

There do tend to be more mosquitoes in late summer. I think the varied responses here are partly because some people get bitten by mosquitoes and others, not. I noticed more mosquito bites on a summer trip but have also had them at other times of year. Be extra careful at Ft. Wilderness and apply your favorite repellent before going there. Also in resort areas, be alert as mosquitoes may try to follow you back to your room.

Shhh. That's not what I want to hear! And our first night is AK. Ugh. Repel 100 is my only hope. And still I'm scared.

we go the last week of August and have never been bit by a mosquito there. And I ALWAYS get bit. They some how always seem to find me, but not at Disney. I try not to think about what they must be spraying to control them that well.

We had a split stay, first resort and parks, nothing. Moved to AKL, sitting on balcony, got bit.

Just returned 8/5. We got chomped on a little at Trader Sam's outside at the Poly.

Now, post rain and fireworks at EPCOT you should have seen our surprise at the fairly large rats in the bushes (3) on the other side of the low stone wall outside the Norway bakery!

I would have passed out right then and there, lol

Inside of the parks you will have no problem. Outside is a different story

Been here since Aug 5th and staying at AKL (sitting on my balcony right now). Haven't seen a single mosquito (been to MK, AK, AKL) and I typically attract them.

Living in Florida, I can tell you this year has been bad as far as the mosquito population goes. Spraying does a lot but it has been harder to keep up.

I was there from 7/27-8/4 and got bit by mosquitos several times. I have never gotten bitten while visiting WDW before but this time was different for some reason.
