Mosquitos on Castaway Cay

We were on the Wonder last weekend and both DH and I got several mosquito bites on Castaway Cay. We don't remember having that problem before....has anyone else? Guess I'll make sure to bring my bug repellent sunscreen next time!

We were on Castaway Cay on Tues 8/10. No problems with mosquitos for us and they usually love me!

I don't remember having any problems with mosquitos on any of the trips & they drive me nuts!

We were on CC in April and I got a nasty bite on my ankle (swelled) and now have a 1/4inch mark, otherwise, the bugs weren't too bad.

Never had a problem with bugs on any of our trips to CC (Sept - Oct), just sea urchines on our first trip when we made the mistake of wading off the adult beach with bare feet.

A few yrs back one of the CM's told us that Castaway is infested w/ Mosquitos. They love my DH but not me....

Wow, we have never gotten biten by mosquitos on CC and hope to keep it that way. Next time I will be sure to use bug spray on my daughter though since she is allergic to mosquitos! I am so happy we lucked out the past 2 cruises and had no mosquitos or we would have ended up at the ships Dr!

We were on CC last August and many of us were bitten badly. The CM's said they weren't mosquitos but smaller less obvious bugs.

The CM's said that regular bug spray often has little effect.

We leave next Sat again on DCL, and I am buying the strongest bug repellant I can find.

Does anyone know if they are worse any specific time of year My daughter is also allergic to them. We had no problems in May - I guess we were fortunate

Yep! I sure noticed the 'skeeters'. However; my daughters and I were attacked at Blackbeards Cay Stingray adventure. In particular, around the food area. So, if you're headed that way, be warned and be prepared.
