mosquitoes bad right now

Don't forget your bug repellent.We live in Florida and have noticed a greater number of mosquitos in the past couple of weeks. Your last trip to Disney we got EAT UP. I actually can't remember ever seeing disney spraying for mosquitos.

They've been unusally bad here where I live, too!

I got bit up bad last week and I used repellant too! And there were other biting bugs other than mosquitoes too that itch MORE!

I know that 2 years ago, when camping in the cabins, I stepped on a nest of fireants while plugging in the golf cart. (it was dark). I got bit so bad. I went screaming into the cabin and jumped into the bathtub to wash off the ants and try to stop the burning. It was horrible. Then the itch came next. My poor kids were scared to step on any grass. LOL FW sent down a maintenance guy to spray within 10 minutes and he told me all about these ants; which I had no knowledge of prior. We saw several huge ant hills during the week as well. So, be careful where you step at night.

I believe that they spray early in the mornings before most people get up. I remember seeing a vehicle pulling something that had mist or smoke coming out of it going around the loops. I just assumed it was to control the mosquitos or whatever else.

Fire ants are every where in Florida and very difficult to kill. Some people are highly allergic to them and boy does it hurt when they sting you. You really can't spray for fireants you have to use posion that the worker ants have the queen eat. They are called fireants because people would have to actually pour gasoline on the nests and light the hills on fire to get rid of them. Spraying fire ant hills actually works them up into a frenzy. I would definately stay off the grass if any ants are present and be careful in some dirt areas near playgrounds as they love to aslo hang out there. All buildings in Florida have to have the ground treated for fireants before building. My friends apartment did not undergo proper treatment and they had fireants building nests in peoples closets on the third floor! They sure are pesky!
