We are toying with eating at Marrakesh (sp) on our upcoming trip.......

Havent read much here about it........ SO I figured I would ask!

Thoughts?????

I have been a pretty picky eater until the last few years, thanks to Epcot and a little courage!!! ;)
Restaurant Marrakesh has some good food though I tend to stick to the more familiar things. The Sultan's Sampler works well for me even though it has changed a bit over the years. It has Chicken (white meat) brochettes (kabobs), A beef brewat roll ( seasoned ground beef rolled into pastry and deep fried), chicken bastilla ( minced chiken with almonds in flaky pastry coveres with powdered sugar, and cous cous. It is all very flavorfull and filling. Pop (age 74) enjoyed the lamb and Morrocan salads. However Mom and Sis were way out of their element. I was sure Sis would like the Chicken brochettes but she didn. She did like the Beef Brewat rolls. You can order those seperately I think. I could eat a ton of those.
It is also a beautiful restaurant as well.

I've never been there but my wife went there with a friend several years ago. She thought it was outstanding. Raved on it for days and said she's not taking me there due to the belly dancer. However, we really like exotic food at our home. The other place at Morraco is also good for some quick fast food that you will not find at many local American places. She lets me eat there - no belly dancing there. Have fun.

We had a wonderful adults only meal there. Be sure to chat with your waiter, we found out some neat things about Morroco and our waiter selected a very nice Morrocan wine for us. The food was very good and we enjoyed the belly dancer too.

The Berber Feast is a nice sampling, also there is a chef's lunch special that includes dessert, I think.

our party of 7 ate there in May and loved it. The age range was 4-61. The lunch deal is a great bargin, even for WDW. The belly dancer is G rated BTW. I have great picks of my then 4 DD dancing with her.

We had dinner at Marrakesh a couple of yrs. ago and loved it...we are returning next week and going again with our CP package. We loved the Lemon Chicken, the kabobs, couscous, and great mint iced tea.

We like the restaurant in Morocco. We have eaten there three times. The restaurant itself is cool and relaxing. It has never been rushed. tne tables are widely spaced so you can carry on conversations. The entertainment has been excellent - one or two musicians and a belly dancer. The dancing is on each hour, but not continuous.

Because of the bellydancer (she is great with children), it can be fun for kids, too.

We enjoy the food, too. It is spiced differently from American fod, of course, but not hot. It has all been tasty.

I recommend this restaurant.

Another thumbs up for Marrakesh.
We have eaten there for lunch and dinner. Both are enjoyable. It is nice and quiet.
We order hot mint tea to drink. Sometimes we have a fresh mint leaf placed in the bottom of the cup. In the future, if I saw my cup was leafless ;) , I would ask for the mint leaf. The tea is good, but that fresh mint leaf makes it GREAT! :)

We ate there last week. The kids (8 & 6) didn't care for their meals and they have a very limited child's menu. DH and I enjoyed our meal. We split an appetizer for 2 that had chiken bastillas and beef beirwat (sp?) and a salad. Dh also ahd soup the he said was just ok. It was quiet while we were there and unfortunately we missed the entertainment. :(

Too bad you missed the belly dancer, she is wonderful. We were in there just over one hour and saw her whole act when we first got there then she was just coming out again when we left so I think she dances once each hour. The music went longer.

When were were there for lunch in May this is how the show ran(at least that day).We caught about the last 5 min of a belly dancers act when we were seated. As soon as she and her muscian left another muscian can in and played for 30 min. Then another belly dancer (and muscian too?) came in.

we ate there in september...my DH had wanted to try that restaurant from the very first time he knew of it's existence. i gave in, even though i'm a VERY picky eater...i actually enjoyed it! we ate there at about 2pm or so and the belly dancer wasn't performing. we did have a man in there singing and playing a little guitar like instrument though. we had one of the feasts..but i can't remember which one. DH LOVES that kind of food and he wanted me to try a little of everything. the food was good but i wasn't a big fan of everything on my plate...like i said, i'm a picky eater! but i really enjoyed the atmosphere and won't hesitate in returning there on our next trip! :)

Worth it for the atmosphere alone. I think this is one of the most beautiful restaurants anywhere. You don't need to be afraid of the food- it's nothing too "wierd."

Love it! Great food, nice atmosphere, good servers. I like the entertainment too, which includes a belly dancer and musicians. Try it - I don't think you'll be sorry!

I've always asked if they had "raif" (or maybe it is spelled "rife" -- I have never seen it written down). I had this in Tangier as a breakfast food. It is a wheat cake, formed by hand like a pancake and heated on a griddle and then eaten with honey. I thought it would make a great snack food, but so far every time I have been there, they have not had it ... alas.

My hubvand and I had the earliest dinner PS we could get when we ate there. Nobody was there - including the infamous belly dancer. The food was very "ethnic/exotic" for our tastes. We were very disappointed. I hardly touched anything on my plate. After we left I made a beeline to Mexico for some counter service!

Our entire family has been to Marrakesh for lunch on each of our last 3 trips. Twin daughters (12) and son (18) have no trouble finding many items to enjoy on the menu. Love the Seafood Bastilla, Beef Brewat Rolls, Kabobs, Salads, etc. The hot mint tea is also a treat. Give it a try, you won't be sorry.
