I have been wanting to try Moroccan oil for a long time now. But, I just can't get past the price tag($40 for 3.4oz bottle). So, I was looking around online yesterday and found some "budget" versions of Moroccan oil. They are all made with argan oil(same ingredient in Moroccan oil) but they are a fraction of the price.

One 'n Only Argan Oil
Agadir Argan Oil

Anyway, what is your experience using Moroccan oil? Have you tried any alternatives? Do you use the Moroccan oil/Argan oil for skincare as well as haircare?

If you don't use Argan oil, do you use something else? I've heard good things about olive oil and coconut oil. I have naturally curly hair that tends to be dry and frizz. So, any help I can get would be appreciated.

I use it and love it! Love the smell, and it really leaves my hair soft and shiny. A little goes a long way -I bought the bottle over the summer, and still have 3/4 of the bottle left.

I have a bottle of the real stuff and it's ok. I don't love it enough to buy it again. I also bought some Marrakesh oil. I think that was $28.00. I like it better because it's a pump. Easier to dispense and less chance of spilling. I'm always terrified that the Moroccan oil is going to tip over while it's uncovered.

I use the One n Only Argan Oil from Sally Beauty Supply. LOVE it. Use it sparingly as a little goes a long way and too much can get greasy.

I'm doing the keratin treatments at the salon now. I just had my 3rd one done. OMG. I don't even have to use any kind of conditioner anymore. I used to have very curly hair with a lot of frizz (and terrible knots when I had to comb out after a shampoo). While my hair is not perfectly straight, I could now go out without flat ironing if I wanted to. And the knots are no more!!!

OP, I use One N' Only Argon Oil and I LOVE it. I can tell a HUGE difference in my hair. My hair now feels soft and sleek. It helps keep down a lot of the flyaways. Also my hair is a ratty type of curl, so I almost always straighten it. The One N' Only helps it to stay straight for 2-3 days even through the steam of a shower (not washing the hair of course). And best of all, I got it for $9.99 at Sally Beauty.

I am SURE it isn't as good as the real stuff, but I have been very happy with it and it last ages because you only use a couple/few drops.

See, this is the one I am leaning toward. I have read a lot of great reviews. And a lot of reviews from people that had previously used Moroccan Oil brand and they all preferred One 'N Only. I would be willing to try the Moroccan Oil, but not for $40. 10 bucks I can handle. :thumbsup2

It also smells wonderful! Oh and it helps my hair dry faster.

I also have excema on my hands and it helps keep them moistened.

I love everything about it since I have started using it.:goodvibes

FWIW - I'm currently using the Moroccan Oil brand and when my bottle is empty I plan on trying the One 'n Only variety from Sally Beauty. I got a little bottle of the One 'n Only argan conditioner with another purchase and it smells identical to my Moroccan oil. So, I figure it is worth a try.

Also, note that the Josie Maran argan oil (not the hair serum but the oil) is 100% argan oil. The Moraccan Oil and the One 'n Only have argan oil as one of the ingredients. Don't use the hair products on your face. But you can use the Josie Maran 100% argan oil on your face.

I love Moroccan Oil brand. It makes my hair soft and much less frizzy ( I have wavy hair but not curly). My hair dresser recommended that I try the Sexy Hair product that contains Argon oil because it is slightly cheaper and, in her opinion, better. I have used it a few times. By the end of the day my hair feels flat and a little...uh..oily.

I imagine that this is one of those situations where results depend on your hair type.

I second Kiehls but nothing beats Moroccan Oil. I don't mess around with my hair. You get what you pay for in that department.

I tried a cheaper version of MoracconOil but it was too thick for my hair..my hair is very thin and this one made it greasy. I use the Morracan Oil for light hair and love it. It is expensive but it does last a long time.

Do you guys put it on your hair when it's wet or dry.

I put it on when my hair is wet and then I blow dry. So far I have never found my hair to feel greasy from using it. It's literally just like 2-3 drops in the palm of my hand.

I would love to hear more details about these treatments!

I love love love Moroccan Oil. I buy the shampoo & conditioner.

However, DH is no too thrilled with the price:scared1:.

Oh well...somethings can't be helped:rolleyes:
