The aroma of coffee brewing in the morning at our campsite is one of life's simple pleasures. I love mine from the aluminum percolator on the campstove, while DH has to use his Mr Coffee. What is your favorite method?

Didn't vote - none of the choices were what we have. There's nothing like having your own coffee maker - have never drank the coffee at TE - only Community Dark Roast for us south LA people. We use an electric (brew) Krups in our MH - as you said, nothing like that aroma in the morning!! :coffee:

Just your standard mr. coffee on the counter. I have tried all the various ways to brew and I have determined one thing. The method I cannot tell the difference, the bean makes the difference and I prefer to grind right when I set to brew my coffee. I can taste the difference when I need to brew on a timer, but even most mornings I grind and brew before I commute to work.

I'm the only coffee drinker so Keurig for me. I keep about 6 flavors available depending on my needs. It might be caramel, mocha, Folgers, Dunk n', coffee shop...

I am the only coffee drinker too, but I do tend to drink a lot. I have gotten coffee from the Meadows and Trails End, but I also brew my own. In the camper, I have the Old Style Percolator on the stove. I usually also line it with a filter because the cafestols you can get without one can actually raise your cholesterol level (Bet a lot of you didn't know that... Yeah, me neither until my numbers jumped and I did some research). I like this method in the camper because Depending on our travels, I may or may not have electricity to run a coffee maker (Keurig, Mr Coffee, Etc..) but the old style percolator can work almost anywhere with or without electricity.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the smell of fresh brewing coffee in the morning. The only problem is that in the camper, in Florida, running the stove (and coffee pot) puts out a lot of heat. No problem as we have the AC running, but it "Lessens" the enjoyment of the aroma of fresh coffee brewing.

I have an old electric peculator that used to be my grandmothers. I had her aluminum stove top one but my dad took it back, the replacement is still lovely. I let everyone sleep a bit and brew it in the outdoor kitchen and enjoy a slow start to the morning. The smell of perking coffee is only made better by the smell of frying bacon. :D

Peg110, you're right! Coffee perking/brewing and bacon sizzling ... and if it's my husband doing the cooking while I do the heavy-looking on, it's a perfect start to the day! Mind you, we will have both the Mr Coffee and my stovetop percolator working. No chance anyone can sleep through those aromas.:rainbow:

Sadly, I am the "Husband" doing the cooking. I hate cooking bacon in the Camper and we don't have an outside kitchen (yet). Our last "Camping" outage we bought and electric Griddle. I took that outside and cooked the bacon on on the picnic table instead. (That was nice. less mess, easier cleaning) It also made it easy to cook 10 strips of bacon at once, because again, everything is better with bacon.

(at home last night I made some bacon to use in our dinner recipe. Chicken breasts seared/fried in the bacon grease (dusted with seasoned flour first) for a few minutes on each side. Put in the baking dish with BBQ sauce on top, and finished cooking. The last 10 minutes of cooking the bacon cooked previously is crumbled on top of the chicken breasts with Mexican style cheese (and scallions if you like) and finished baking. YUM!

Your recipe will be on my must try list! We have the electric skillet and the electric griddle. Pancakes on the long griddle and bacon in skillet (I cut the package in half to fit skillet). May have to head over to Waffle House after this post

We went camping (not at Disney) over the summer and we heated up water on the camp stove and used a French press. Delicious! At home, we can't seem to keep a working coffee pot for very long, so we have started using an old stovetop percolator. Also good! It can be used over a fire BUT the smoke blackens it and can make the outside get dirty and gross. Prefer a camp stove.

While we love the smell of bacon cooking so do the critters. We buy precooked bacon and remove the package from the site ASAP.

Oh and like I posted above we like these.

I have used an old camp peculator but I'm the only one that drinks coffee and boiling coffee is a sin.

I am also the only coffee drinker in the family, I heat water in my electric tea kettle and use the folgers singles, the ones that look like tea bags. I know a Keurig is a single cup brewer, we just try not to bring to much expensive appliances to the Fort with us. DW and the 2 DD's like to heat up cider in the tea kettles to drink in the morning.
