Looking for someone who has experienced Morimoto Asia, preferable with children. Here's the 411...

So, we really want to try this place. My 18 year old daughter is dying to go here-she loves Japanese culture and is studying the language also-but I have a 12 year old son who is autistic and a picky eater. Does anyone have any pics or reviews of the kids food? I think he may eat the mac and cheese(although he's picky about that too) and he likes rice-steamed or fried. As much as I want to try this, I don't want him to be hungry. He would be just as happy with chicken nuggets and fries. :sad2:

Thanks in advance. I need to make the ADRs soon if I'm going-it will be week after next but there seems to be plenty of spaces available.

I'm having dinner there tonight before Cirque - no kids in our party, but if I see any kids stuff, I'll let you know!

I've seen some stuff posted on the Disney Food Blog, but I'd love to hear from someone who is a DIS'r to give their opinion. We're eating this our first night (arrival) and want to make sure we can switch if it was bad.

We're looking into the dim sum. Anyone got portion sizes?

Well, I just made reservations. We are also eating there our first night. We've been looking at the menu, and my son thinks he will eat the macaroni and cheese. I have to say it looks pretty good :) It all looks really good, but the noodles sound yummy!

My 28 yo daughter and I ate there on 10/24. We shared several items and enjoyed each of them. We liked they way they brought us one dish at a time and plan to return on our next trip in July.

We got the Tuna Pizza, Shumai, Pork Egg Rolls, a Spicy Tuna Sushi Roll, and the Peking Duck.
The duck was our favorite and we were told they had run out the previous night.

We ended up spending $138 (with tip) and almost 2 hours there.

We were there last night. We had the shumai, two of the dumplings, another shrimp dumping and the pork belly buns (among other things). The buns were two pieces per serving, everything was four - and this follows with the menu ... if it was less than four pieces per dish, the menu specifies.

We were there for about 2:30 and had an amazing dinner. The chocolate cream & crunch dessert is amazing.

@Keels - It sounds absolutely amazing. Thanks for sharing the portion sizes - I think we could probably order that and split it between two people for sure!

If it help any, the orange chicken actually comes without a sauce on it. My son loves orange chicken so this is what he got!

I ate there last week and it was very good. I can't help you with what a picky eater would like but I can tell you that the food was quite good and by the looks of the kitchen, the staff was making sure everything was high quality. The downside is we could hear a bit of shouting.

We had the peking duck. It was very good. They suggested the entree is 'for one person' but don't listen to them! I took 'for one person' to mean we would only get part of the duck and not a whole duck. Nope; it's the whole duck. Do NOT eat a whole duck yourself! It's delicious and you will WANT to eat the whole duck, just don't do it. We wisely ignored the server and shared the duck. With a few appetizers to round out the meal, it worked out perfectly.

While I've yet to go, the experience is NOT a Japanese immersion.

I might even suggest a majority of the menu is Chinese food.

We have a reservation for Dec but I certainly can't afford to spend 2+ hours at dinner. I'm sort of rethinking it now.
