more than one resort

I see a lot of people having points at more than one resort, sometimes as little as 25. Are there any benefits of owning points at multiple resorts? We are pretty close to buying & I'm trying to find out all I can.

It depends upon whether or not you book your vacations at the 11 month window. I have two separate home resorts, OKW and BW, because I want to book GV's and BW view, both of which tend to be very hard to get. If I call at the 11 month window I stand a better chance of getting the room that I want. Some people buy 25 pts so they can reserve a studio for a couple of nights. I personally think it takes an awful lot of work to keep track of 25 pts, but that's your choice. If you are not yet a member, start with one contract at one resort, and save adding on at a different resort until you are familiar with how DVC works.

owning at multiple resort gives you the benefit of having the 11 month booking window at all your resorts. By banking and borrowing from those resort points affords you the opportunity to have triple the number of points for a nice vacation. Unless always staying in a studio, I would prefer at least 50 - 75 points on each contract.
