(More than)A FIVE years of Trips! -- TR Started! Day One - updated 6/10

I got your PM with the links to the TRs! I promise I will merge them all tomorrow. I have been trying to catch up on some 'real life' stuff today despite being extremely tired after my long day trip to DLR yesterday. (But it is a 'good tired,' not a 'bad tired.':)) Then we will have one mega, super duper TR for you!!:cool1::cool1:

By the way - I will comment more later, but I love your latest installment of this TR and the photos. It was far, far too crowded yesterday for us to even consider going into the Reindeer Round-Up, sadly, so I appreciate your pictures! Plus, you are so lucky to have a very uncluttered picture in front of the Castle. We took a daytime Castle picture and there were lots of people everywhere. Last night, just before we left, we stopped to get a group PhotoPass picture in front of the gorgeous Winter Castle, and there were SOOOOO many people in the background, and an idiot who ran right in front of the shot - not to mention a random child who would not get out of our shot - that I am not sure you will even be able to see us in it at all!!!:lmao::rotfl2:

Thanks!! I totally understand the "good tired." I felt that way last Sunday night. :faint:

And regarding people in our pictures, well there have been quite a few where I give DH the "Really?" look as people walk in front of the camera or right behind us - and sometimes the PP CM will laugh a bit too. I also once witnessed, while waiting in line for the infamous castle pic at night, a family that literally posed less than a foot away from the family taking the PP picture. The PP CM tried to gently ask them to move aside and wait or to get in line, but they apparently didn't care, took their pic, and then went on their way. Everyone who saw was kinda in shock, but had a good attitude about it and a good laugh too. :rotfl:

Okey dokey! I merged the 4 Pre-TRs/TRs together, so they are all here in one place, and everything should have automatically fallen into chronological order. Of course, now you may want to go back and change the main title of this entire thread or any Tables of Contents you created (the links to the pages will have changed), but otherwise, now we have everything in one place (minus the WDW TR, unfortunately), and, if you want to, you can keep adding to it as new trips come up. You don't have to, of course, and you can always make separate TRs, but I think it is a good way for everyone to kind of get acquainted with you and see your previous DLR adventures all in one spot, and you have up to 250 pages for a thread before a new one has to be created, if I am not mistaken, so you have room for lots more trips' TRs!!:cool1:

Thanks! It took me a good hour to get all my table of contents updated - I think it looks pretty good! I hope?! Wow...now my thread has over 14K views! Crazy!

I'm so excited to get started on my current TR now :cool1: Promise I'll update the rest of Day 1 later today!

Hey! Merry Christmas. Your first update was good... too bad the weather wasn't great though. Can't wait to hear more.

It looks great! I know you caught a cold at DLR, as I did. Are you still sick with it? Mine is not the worst one I have ever had, thankfully, but enough to set me back - and it keeps lingering on and on. Arrrggghhh.

Well, I was blowing my nose (TMI, I know) for about 2 weeks after I got the cold! It was one of the worse I've ever had - it was like a flu/cold mixture! Ughh!

Sorry for the lack of updates. I had in-laws in town for a week, then Christmas with my family, and then I was just out of town for four days for a wedding up in Montana (burrr!!!). Back now and ready to get this TR on with and...ahem...over with! I'm an editing picture fiend, but it takes FOREVER! I just finished all the wedding pictures so that my friend could have them asap, so the DIS comes next (priorities, hahaha :rolleyes1). Oh whats that? I need to make dinner and clean house and unpack? Oh well...there's always tomorrow.

So please encourage me people, I'll need it to finish this one!!!

I have just spend part of the day reading your trip reports and I have really enjoyed them. Even if they aren't all the way finished. I hope that you finish the christmas report though, I would love to see more pics of that trip.

Here is what the crowds looked like around 2PM on Saturday (12/11)

And some yummy mickey gingerbread

Got our picture taking after taking another couple's photo. Last time we'll probably see it like this for Christmas?
DSC05254-1.jpg

The skies were getting gray!
DSC05255.jpg

And there were people swimming in the water! Hahh! They must have been so cold.
DSC05259.jpg

The viewing area is huge! I still can't believe it will hold 9,000 people - but I guess that is standing room only.
DSC05260.jpg

Pretty backdrop for the show, well, even better if it was a sunny clear day!
DSC05261.jpg

Surprise surprise - we went on Toy Story next. We were pumped, but a little nervous because we couldn't remember all the tricks like usual. :3dglasses:
DSC05265.jpg

Not to rub it in, but these aren't very good scores for us... :rolleyes1

Next we left to go check in to our hotel. Since I knew the area, we got there in about 10 minutes from the parking garage. Its only about a mile from the park. Its called Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort.

Here is the room:

Didn't know about this - nice little counter space/cabinet area with coffee maker and pretty large mini fridge.

The bathroom:

Closet with shelves and iron/ironing board

When we were in the room it started raining so we took a break and then bundled up for the night. The forecast was wet, wet, and cold. :rotfl: Coming up next - Friday night!

You gotta keep going with this one! I got 5 more months to go and I'm running out of TRs to read!

FINISH IT!!! FINISH IT!!! FINISH IT!!!

I hope that was some inspiration for you :p

LOL! Thanks! I imagine you screaming it into your computer while others in your house at the time look at you with complete confusion. :rotfl:

Want more.

You got it!

I have just spend part of the day reading your trip reports and I have really enjoyed them. Even if they aren't all the way finished. I hope that you finish the christmas report though, I would love to see more pics of that trip.

I have lots more pics! ;)

More please! C'mon, you can do it! :)

I know! I have to!!!!

You gotta keep going with this one! I got 5 more months to go and I'm running out of TRs to read!

First of all, congrats to a Disneyland wedding! :woohoo: And thanks for the encouragement!

So we bundled up and headed out from the hotel. We needed to stop at the drugstore and get gas before getting to the park. We arrived at DCA, it was around 6:30PM. We were hungry and ready to eat. We had discussed what to eat about 5 times in the past hour, and had finally settled on Taste Pilots because we knew what to expect and we just love that darn condiment bar! (Stupid Hungry Bear charging extra for tomato!!!)

DH had the bbq chicken sandwhich:

I had the kid's sliders meal:

Next we headed over to Soarin and it had about a 10 minute wait. They were only running one side, and FP were still available.

Next we headed over to PP to see the lights:

DSC05283copy.jpg

We just took time walking around at this point - we were wasting time before the fireworks. Got some pictures of yummy goodies

DSC05292.jpg

Then we headed over to Disneyland and walked around Fantasyland. I got a sweet pictures of the castle (well considering its a 3 year-old point and shoot camera!).

DSC05294.jpg

Then we headed over to SM to use FP from earlier. It actually shut down while we were in line in the main area, right after we had given our FP to the CM. All the lights came on and we watched all the people that were on the ride come off - must have been 6 different cars of people? Anyway, about ten minutes later the lights finally went off and the ride started again. Lots of cheering! :cool1:

We were bored....

We then walked around Fantasyland, and took some more pictures before claiming our favorite Fireworks watching spot, right next to the photo store at the end of main street.

Okay! We're ready for the show!
DSC05314.jpg

This was the first time I actually tried to WATCH the show instead of getting good pictures of it. But I did manage this one:
DSC05320.jpg

Over to Critter Country - it was dead! Cold, wet, and perfect!

Never seen this before!

Our favorite place!

And after that, we were beat! Lets call it a night and head back to a warm hotel - yup! :thumbsup2

So I've lost all readers I guess...:lmao:

I will finish this - I promise. Its just I'm a little too excited about a tiny little detail I found out about just one week ago... WE'RE GOING TO DISNEYWORLD! And not only that, but we'll be there for our Anniversary and we're going with my In-Laws again AND we're using their timeshare points:worship::worship::worship: to stay at OKW! Then we're staying in POR for a couple nights at the end of the vacation by ourselves. Ten days in Disney is enough to keep my occupied for a year and well... Okay...now I have to finish a DLR TR and start a WDW PreTR! Wow...its gonna be a LOOOONG weekend. Priorities, check! :thumbsup2 I'll post the WDW pre-tr link here in case anyone is interested when I have it up! (I'm still coming up with a title).

No, I am still here!! Sounds like great fun. I shall folllow you over when you do the new trip report. I am a trip report junkie.

I'm still reading too! And definitely looking forward to your WDW pre-trip report as well. :)

I can't even believe it - we're adding one last DLR trip before our APs expire next Friday!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

I couldn't be more excited about our spontaneous trip. We leave Friday Apr 30 - May 3. DH said he can't wait for WDW and needs to get away now (job is killing him softly...but thats another story).

For anyone that remembers me, I probably won't do a trip report due to the fact that I can't finish one. I've accepted it, and I've moved on. I'm just spread to thin with other activities! I will, however, promise a quick review, with pics of course. How's that? Deal?

We're staying at Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort again, got it through priceline at $46/night. Probably could have done cheaper but I was to eager to make sure we had somewhere to stay! We're looking forward to Food and Wine and just seeing the sights, rides and commando style planning will take a back seat this trip for Disney magic and relaxation. Too bad it was a budget trip and we won't be springing for GCH this trip - that would've been just too much to even be real. Keep my eyes on WDW for a resort style vacation. :goodvibes
