Just two more quick ?s about SW weekends:

1) Do they differ much from weekend to weekend (guest appearances, etc.)

2) When do they usually post who the guests will be and what activities they will have?

We are trying to decide if we should go Thu to Thu or Fri to Fri. Fri to Fri would allow us to experience two different weekends, but if they don't differ much I will go with the slightly less airfare Thur to Thur.

Thanks for any info!

Aside from different celebrities, the events are nearly all identicle. They do sell different merchandise each weekend. The vast majority of the merchandise is the same, but some merchandise are only sold on select weekends.

I'd guess a guest list will surface in April. Thats when I've usually gotten them to post on my website.

If you do a Fri to Fri, you'd still have to take a pretty late flight in order to be at MGM on Friday. I think you'll be happy with one full weekend, so Thurs to Thurs is my advice.

If you go Thur-Thur you have Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday to go to SW weekends. QuickGold is right in that the only difference is the celebrity appearances. When you get to that section of SWW they have a table set up (or you can ask a CM) what characters are available and at what times they are set to appear at various stations. Some characters don't really have set stations, Luke and Leia didn't last year, and the Cantina Band just kind of roamed around, which led to this cool photo:

My only disappointment was that there was no "Han Solo" last year :-(

Oooh - we got a great picture with Han 2 years ago - we were in line for Luke and Leia and he walked away from his line to harass Luke so we got a good pic with all 3 of them.

Also, some characters share locations on a rotation. I know Kit Fistko and Mace Windu had the same spot as did Jango Fett and Darth Vader. Also, Chebacca and a Ewok had the same spot, so it really just depended on what time it was as to who was appearing.

Last year there just seemed to be more people waiting for the characters for pictures. Don't really know if there will be more or less people since there is the big Celebration 3 and the movie this year.

Thanks for your quick responses! Now I just have to make sure airfare is still lower Thur to Thur!

Thanks again!

If getting different celebrity autographs is important, do the Friday to Friday. There will be different celebrities for each weekend. Most of the other activities will be the same. By the way, we have a great picture and video of my daughter, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Wicket clowning around by the speeder acrossw from Star Tours? I do have one question, though. Was anyone last year dressed up as the Hayden Christensen version of Anakin Skywalker/soon to be Darth Vader? My daughter is now a teenager and in love with Hayden. That's why we are really going to WDW for the Episode 3 premier and the first Star Wars weekend. Hope to see you there in 113 days.

Sorry, but there were no Hayden look-alikes at the last few weekends.

Some of the more notable missing characters -

Yoda
Obi Wan
Anakin
Jabba
Jar Jar (I would assume this would be due to the high amount of attacks he would get)

Disney generally only has one version of the characters - like Amidala in the queen garb from Episode 1 as opposed to the Senator in Episode 2 and Darth Vader, not Anakin. They also have Boba Fett as an adult, not a child.

There is, however, an awesome Aurra Sing that walks around.

I wonder if they will have a General Grievous since he will debut with Ep 3.

Don't forget getting your picture with Jedi Mickey! He's so cute and they will put a little Star Wars Weekend logo in the corner of the photo.

Good to find some Star Wars weekends fans. We are pumped! Can 3 1/2 months go any faster? How did you post your Revenge of the Sith countdown? I have one from the clockdown.com and would like to post mine. Looks like we are going the same weekend.

Can't wait for the new movie-with the famous lightsaber battle!!! See you all at Star Wars Weekends! :Pinkbounc

My countdown is from the website so I just have it as

in my signature.

I just super excited since that weekend starts Wednesday night for me - lining up around 9 PM or so for the 12:01 show to get the good seats in the theater, taking off from work the next day and hopefully catching another midday show before going to the airport and leaving for Disneyworld. Friday I have SWW, Saturday is my birthday (Happy 25th to me and Empire Strikes Back) and another SWW. I then have a day or two to do other parks and then have 2 days at Universal. May is shaping up to be a very good month.
