Not really a trip planning question...but with Disney just having bought Lucasfilm which owns the whole Star Wars catalogue...

would more Star Wars in the parks make you go back again?

..and is this something (along with Marvel) that they could exploit to make WDW more enticing for male members of the family, given that most of the new expansions are quite female focussed?

An entire Star Wars and Marvel land would be amazing and I think waaaaay more popular than Avatarland!

I've been hearing rumours of a Star Wars expansion at Hollywood Studios for a while now....looks like it could be a possibility :yay:

:O that would be amazing! It's not like they don't have the room for it and you can never have too much Star Wars

DH well excited at the thought of another Star Wars movie..thats expected in 2015 so I am sure Disney will capitalise on that and we'll see/hear something..exciting times ahead I think:goodvibes

It just made me more excited about the fact that we should hopefully be there for the first Star Wars Weekend next year

I think this is very good news - clearly the cooperation has been very strong between the companies until now but there's so much more that can be done.
As an aside, we rode Star Tours yesterday for the first time since the revamp and were mightily impressed - having the different versions is genius :thumbsup2

We were proper geeks in September and had a spread sheet with all the different versions of the ride and ticked them off as we completed each one! Actually when I say WE I actually mean DH;)

Love the idea of a Star Wars land at DHS. So much scope for great theming with all the different planets to draw from.

I don't necessarily think that Star Wars can be incompatible with the Animal Kingdom instead of Avatarland either. You could have a Forests of Endor area complete with Ewoks, and also Kashykk with Wookies, that would fit in with the 'nature' theme for the AK. I must admit to being underwhelmed by the prospect of Avatarland.

To answer the original question, yes I would go just for a Star Wars land.

Then add in a Marvel land, and that would be the icing on the cake for me. To be honest, I've never really been into the Disney characters, even when I was a boy, so MK doesn't really do it for me like a lot of people. I much prefer EPCOT.

But rather than add on to existing theme parks, how about a completely new theme park - I can easily see there being enough material for a whole Star Wars theme park. And the same is true for Marvel. It would also have the added bonus for Disney of swallowing up another day of vacation to keep the punters on Disney property rather than going offsite.

Given how popular the Star Wars weekends are i'd say some sort of expansion must be a given.

If I was an Imagineer I would be over the moon, the possibilities are endless.

Mate at work said, they could make a Millennium Falcon restaurant, where you go up the ramp to get in, or a mock up of the death star landing bay with the falcon in it as the centre piece to a restaurant, after what universal did with Harry Potter, the mind works over time!!!!

:cool1:

So very sorry, but cannot resist this any longer...

"I have a bad feeling about this"

That is only the first in what is reported to be three more films. The second film coming in 2017. And the third film coming in 2019.

Then one every 2 years or so after that!
