I was just talking to member services, and the guy I was talking to spent a couple days at SSR to test it out. He gave me some info that you can only get from someone who spent some time there.
First off, he said that he isn't the kind of person who is easilly impressed, but he really was blown away by SSR. They really did a nice job.
He said that all the buildings were one room deep, doors on one side, windows on the other. He desribed the layout as OKW with elevators, but larger.
The rooms do not all directly face the water, some of them are courtyard view, but all of the rooms are on the water side of the building.
He felt that the two buildings that face the quiet pool would be the most requested becuse they face PI directly.
He said the slide on the pool was much faster than he expected. I asked if it was long and he said, not really, but it is fast.
Around the main pool area are waterfalls. These waterfalls make the pool area much quieter than you would expect because of the sound of the running water.
He said that at night they sat around the quiet pool and listened to the music from Pleasure Island. He said it was really nice to sit outside and take it all in without having to be where all the action is.
With his mention of DTD noise I asked if he could hear the music from the rooms and he said that he couldn't hear a thing. It wasn't until you were outside that you could hear the DTD noise, but it wasn't overpowering. This was good to hear.
He was very enthusiastic, and after talking to him, I am more excited than ever to go down next week!
