More Shutters questions..

We've purchased the 6 x 8 photos on our past cruises, but it never occured to me to ask if 3 x 5's or wallet sizes are available?
My husband says if not, we can go to any Walgreen's and have them duplicate them? I'd think Disney would have a way of preventing that. (I never thought to look on the backs.)

I'd just like to send them out in this year's (Yes, I'm already planning) Christmas cards. (Hoping it will encourage other friends and family to do DCL, once they see the fun of having pictures taken w/Mickey in his tux!)

Also, has anyone else noticed it's IMPOSSIBLE to find 6 x 8 photo frames anywhere? We're broke at the end of the cruise (by choice, I know, we love to shop!) and don't have enough to buy 8 or 9 frames, at least not at 15.00 each. (Am I wrong? What's the least expensive 6 x 8 frame?)

Shutters photos are copyrighted by Image Photo Services, Inc. so technically you should not be allowed to copy them at Walgreens, etc.

However, there is a release form available which expressly authorizes you to copy them. The website was made available on a previous thread but I can't seem to find it.

I have a hard copy I would be happy to send or fax to you if you would like. PM me.

PS, copying them is a great idea to make them a more reasonable size!

Yep, you can copy the shutters photo's at walgreens, or any other place with one of those self making photo reprint machines. Just make sure you print the release form from castawayclub.com and take it with you.

Works out great.

I did 8 x 10's of hubby and us on formal night...walgreens was having a buy one get one page free special.

so if I want reprints, I don't order them from the photographic company on the ship, I just print this out and make copies elsewhere and it's FREE? (as in, I don't have to pay the photographic company from the ship anything?)

Yep, DW has used that form at both Walgreens and Walmart for pic copying. It IS on Barbs site (the release form).

Here on the west coast we have a place called Ross. They sell kinda misfit clothing and such, but they have a HUGE selection of nice frames for cheap ($5-7).

TJ MAXX or Marshall's could work too, as would Target.

You can more directly get the release from www.image.com . Be sure to take it with you. The clerk at Walgreens was VERY HAPPY I had it & took it from me for her records. Occaionally you can find 6x8 frames. Try a search on these boards for that thread. Some people have found them at Michael's though I have never seen them at my local one. I have seen them at Wolf/Ritz Camera. Haven't looked lately. Many people buy the 8x10's and use a custom mat for the 6x8. Someone else bought "floating" frames-all glass, will accomodate any size pic.

I did exactly what you would like to do for our 2002 Christmas photo. Our SavOn has weekly coupons of buy one get one free so I took the 8x10 of our family down and made a sheet of 8 wallets and got 8 free. Did this three weekends in a row to get enough pictures for my Christmas cards. FYI if you forget the release, just put a blank sheet of white paper on the back of the photo before you copy it and it will work fine on the self copying machines. Good luck.

Just curious, how is the quality on the copied pictures? Can you see any difference between it and a print from Shutter's?

I just purchased a bunch of nice (some wood) 6 x 8 picture frames at Dollar Tree!! Frames are so expensive; it was nice to find some good ones for $1.00!!

We had one of our Shutter's 8X10's made into photo Christmas cards at Walmart. The quality of the cards was excellent. Just bring the release with you!
