Remember--No Kids and No Pets!

Cast of Characters--
Kathy--motorhome driver extraordinaire, 47
Barbara--'kid-sister' to Kathy and author of this report, 45
Debbie-friend and co-worker, 47
Minnie, 31 foot Winnebago Minnie Class C motorhome, also known as Nana's Little House

Today was Saturday, our last day :-( so we had debated doing EE at MK. However, we had done so many things on our wet day that we decided to sleep in. Then Epcot entered into the discussion, but we knew it was going to be hot and I was moving slow--due to feet blisters--so we decided to have some FW fun and go to MK later in the day.

We cooked a big breakfast and did a little house cleaning in Minnie. Then we headed off on our bikes. We rode all around FW, and did a little shopping at the Meadows and Settlement Trading Posts. Then we headed back up to the WL. We wanted to shop a little there--I had seen a cute photo album there--AND NO WHERE ELSE?!?--and we decided to eat lunch at the Roaring Forks. The kids at home were printing invitations for a surprise birthday party for Kathy's husband (50th) and we got a series of phone calls during lunch because they couldn't change the printer cartridge--TAKE OFF THE PLASTIC--but we enjoyed the lunch and they got the printer going. We did a little more pin-trading and got some photos of the geyser going off. We were hot and sweaty, but the ride back to FW cooled us off. We were getting our things ready for the comfort station and then it began drizzling. As we had things outside drying, Kathy and Debbie ran out to get them in. Kathy decided to go ahead and take care of unhooking the sewer and water hookups, and it began to really storm! Kathy loves a thunderstorm so she didn't even flinch. When she was finished with the outside things we handed Kathy her things for the comfort station in a plastic bag and she hopped on her bike and rode to the showers. When the rain slacked off Debbie and I headed to the comfort station and we were ready to head to MK by about 3.

At the dock we parked our bikes in 6 inches of standing water and caught a waiting boat. When we got to MK, the parade was going on so we took some photos. Then Kathy and Debbie ran ahead to get FP's for Space Mountain. I took a leisurely stroll down Main Street and met them by Alien Encounter. They had FP's for Space Mountain for 9-9:50 p.m., but we were able to walk on AE. Then we rode TTA and headed through Fantasyland to see if we could ride anything there. No luck! The rain was picking up again, so we headed back to Cosmic Rays for dinner--we love that chicken!! Then we cut across Main Street and rode HM. Debbie was looking for T's for her family, so we hit one of the shops in Fantasyland--by the castle--and we were able to ride out a really big thunderstorm there. Debbie found the shirts she wanted, and Kathy found a 30th Anniversary pin and some Sorcerer Mickey things. We left this shop like pack mules under plastic and headed back to SM for their FP's. I found a bench under the TTA track (out of the worst of the wet) and watched the entire population of Orlando wade through Tomorrowland. I saw some really innovative ways of keeping strollers dry, but the best was the small patio umbrella over the double stroller!! When they came back from the ride I bought one of those inflatable balls that they sell, and we headed towards out.

We stopped when we got to Main Street (at the bathroom) and then the fireworks started so we stayed to enjoy them. The cloud cover was so low that you couldn't really see the high fireworks at all, but I got a couple of really neat photos. The castle was changing colors and with the heavenly glow through the clouds the pictures really look different. Then we headed back to the FW dock and there was a boat waiting! We rescued our bikes from the standing water and rode back to Minnie. We spent a few minutes stowing things away for the trip home tomorrow, got dry, and went to bed.

Tomorrow--Time to Head Home, OR Do I Have to Go?

We always keep going during a rain storm - seems to me the crowds tend to thin out a little. Thanks for posting!
