More questions from a new trader

I bought a bunch of pins today at the Disney store for 1.99!!! on clearance, I know they are tradeable but are there rules to what you can trade them for? Like one is snow white and then 3 small dwarfs (each is a seperate pin) what can my ds trade the dwarfs for?? Can you trade a small one for a large one from a CM?? Like one dwarf for a large pin?? Does size matter, Lol!What do you say to the CM to trade, just ask nicely if they would trade? ? Thanks so much!!

It's not the size, it's how you trade it

You can trade a small pin for a large pin.
You can trade two small pins for two large ones.

Walk up to any CM wearing a lanyard (green ones are for under 12 kids only) and say "Wanna trade" or "May I see your pins"?

I tell my kids to not ask to trade if the CM is busy with another guest (like working in a store), and they usually/sometimes/occasionally remember

If you have a legitimate Disney pin (one from a store is legitimate) it is a one for one trade and the size and shape of your pin does not matter. The CM does not have to accept a trade for a pin they already have on their lanyard, and they will not trade a pin on their clothes (like their nametag).

Thanks so much for the reply, I wasn't sure if my ds's would "do it" but they seem really excited about trading. I just wanted to make sure I have all the rules first. I thought I read somewhere that you have to say magic words to the CM to get them to trade My older son is 14 but looks 12 is it a big deal if he trades with the wearer of the green?? with his brother who is 8? They aren't interested in valuable ones, just cool boyish ones.

In the past (long ago, when pin trading was first starting) if the CM knew that the pin was part of a set that was sold together (not counting things like boxed sets) they were only trading for the whole set. I don't know if this still true.

If the pin makes sense to stand alone, it is tradeable alone. For instance, you can trade Grumpy from the Snow White set because he makes sense alone. You cannot trade the number "5" from a set that had 4 pins that made up 2005 because a "5" pin by itself does not make sense.
