It looks like our best option for our June 3 - 9th trip is buying one Annual Pass to get the APH rate at HRH.

1. We will have a Loews card but no stays on it. I have been reading posts saying to request an upgrade at the time of booking. I thought you could only request it at time of check-in, and that it is not guaranteed....

2. Is the free Loews Card room upgrade available with an APH rate? Do you get the welcome gift with an APH rate?

3. How do you handle showing 5 room keys when going through the express (FOTL) line at the parks? My kids will be 8 years old and I do NOT want them keeping track of their own keys. Can my husband hold onto all 5 and show them all at once?

4. Since we will have 5 in a room, are we REQUIRED to rent a rollaway ($25)? The Universal site says something like "a rollaway may be required for maximum occupancy). Do they ever waive the fee for the rollaway?

5. Do all of the rides have FOTL lines? How about the attractions at USO?

Thanks in advance!

I can answer a couple.
#3 An adult can keep all the keys. I kept my dd's and showed them together.

#5 No, they do not. Most do, but not all. Remember, you can also use this at most resturants as well.

1. Upgrades are available upon booking if you are a gold or platinum member.

2. APH rates do not qualify for Loews first benefits.

4. Rollaway is not required. You can bring an air mattress or figure something else out.

5. The only ride that doesn't have FOTL is Pteranadon Flyers because it is an extremely slow loading ride.

#3 As mentioned above, an adult can keep all the cards. I held onto the cards for our entire family and just stepped up to the express line in front of my crew and fanned out the cards like "playing cards" (ahhh, and what a good hand it was) ... they pretty much only looked at the top one. I think only one time did any cast member ask to look at each card closely.

In my avatar, DS has a "necklace" containing his room key....so he could flash his own card at the EP. We had the badge holder on the pullstring on our waist..... Altho DS's had velcro closure around the neck, i still knotted it (AND held onto it after boarding the coasters so he wouldn't lose it!)

now is a good time to start racking up the points on your loews blue card.
don't forget on the loews site to request if you also want the mileage for american airlines, the other airline or amtrak.

depending on the hotel you stay at, you could possible get an upgrade when you check in on your first blue stay. it has happened if rooms are available when you check in.

a roll away is not required when you have 5 in the room. some families prefer to have one but there is a $25 charge per night for it.
many use air mattresses and place them on the floor then deflate them or push them under one of the beds. the housekeeping staff will provide you with linens, pillows, blankets at your request for the air mattress at no charge.

one person can be in charge of the room keys. everyone in your group will need to present them at fotl where they check them. even if you have a 3 year old with you, that 3 year old needs the hotel room key if they are going to use fotl. you should request only you and/or husband have charging priviledges on the room keys. the children's keys will list their name with a C on it to show it is for a child. if you lose a key, it will be replaced at the front desk.

the free loews gift is for AAA, rack rate, etc used discounts.
aph does not qualify for the free loews gift if you used it for a discount
